“A poem written by Hong Wu. The emperor of China who established the Ming Dynasty in the 14th century, written in praise of the Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon HIm.


Since the Creation of the Universe
Heaven has already appointed,
This Faith Preaching Great Saint,
From the West He was Born,
To receive the Holy Scripture,
A book of thirty parts,
To guide all of creation,
Leader of all Leaders,
Greatest of all Holy Ones,
With Support from Above,
To Protect His Nation,
With five daily prayers,
Silently hoping for peace,
With his heart toward Allah,
Empowering the poor,
Saving them from calamity,
Seeing through the Unseen,
Pulling souls and spirits
Away from all wrongdoings,
Mercy to the World,
Traversing the Ancient Path,
Vanquishing the Evil One,
His Religion Pure and True,
Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him),
The Noble and Exalted One.

Hongwu ordered the construction of several mosques in Nanjing, Yunnan, Guangdong and Fujian,[41] and had inscriptions praising Muhammed placed in mosques. He rebuilt the Jinjue Mosque in Nanjing and large numbers of Hui people moved to the city during his rule.[42]

He also wrote a 100 word praise on Islam, Allah and the prophet Muhammad. He had around 10 Muslim generals in his military,[43] including Chang Yuchun, Lan Yu, Ding Dexing, Mu Ying, Feng Sheng and Hu Dahai. It was recorded that "His Majesty ordered to have mosques built in Xijing and Nanjing [the capital cities], and in southern Yunnan, Fujian and Guangdong. His Majesty also personally wrote baizizan [a eulogy] in praise of the Prophet's virtues."[44] In addition, Hongwu's spouse, Empress Ma, can trace her family's genealogy to Islamic ancestors from 10th century China, while Zhu was originally a member of a rebel group that had a Muslim leader named Guo Zhixin.[41]

Hui scholar Yusuf Haji Chang have claimed the Hongwu Emperor was a Muslim, due to his intimate relations with Muslims, but the majority of academics reject this theory.[45]

What I particularly liked is the referral to "From the West He was born" cos in our context we always think of Sayyiduna Rasulullah in the East. All directions sing out His Praise

What I particularly liked is the referral to "From the West He was born" cos in our context we always think of Sayyiduna Rasulullah in the East. All directions sing out His Praise

That caught my attention too.We always seem to say "east" but subhanAllah Islam reached China and filled the hearts of believers their with Iman.
