Why keeping cell phone on 'silent' is must in Masjid

For the first time (after a long time) I forgot to put it on 'silent' in Masjid. While I was praying, it started ringing as someone called me. In a hurry I try to turn it off, without taking it out of the pocket, and suddenly a woman's voice echoed in the pin drop silence of the Masjid. "Hello! Hello!"

I had by mistake pressed the 'loud speaker' button. *embarrassed* Hopefully I wouldn't forget next time inshaAllah to put it on silent. My wife can't stop laughing while I try to politely explain to her that it is not courteous to call someone during the prayers time (specially when you know that he is in the Masjid).
Read not to contradict and confute, not to believe and take for granted, not to find talk and discourse, but to weigh and consider. Inhale positive, exhale negative

Re: Why keeping cell phone on 'silent' is must in Masjid

we should ensure that switches cell phone off before entering the house of Allah Taala. Isnt a mark of great disrespect that a Muslim presents himself in the house of Allah Taala with the sole intention of devoting himself to ibaadah of the Sovereign of both the worlds, Allah Taala and yet he wishes to remain connected with the creation by not switching his cell phone off or by keeping it in the "silent" or "meeting" mode. How unfortunate!!

Muslim performing salaah is in private dialogue with Allah Taala. What a great occasion for a person! Does it not demand from him to completely sever all other attachments and connections and be exclusively connected to his Master, Benefactor and Creator, Allah Taala .
