    madina hotel reviews

    salaams,

please state honest reviews of any hotels you have stayed at in madina whilst on umrah, as during hajj due to the sheer amount of hujjajs, you will rarely get top service,

again, it doesnt matter if its 2* or 7*

    service
    cleanness
    distance etc

    Re: madina hotel reviews

I was staying at the Grand Mecure in Madinah until this Monday and I have to say, it is the WORST hotel I've ever stayed at.

It's advertised as 5* but is more like a 2/3. On arrival, we found that our room hadn't been cleaned - there was dirt everywhere, sheets hadn't been changed and toenails on the floor. After a long coach ride to Madinah from Makkah, little sleep and it being close to 12am, this is the last thing we expected.

The manager was helpful and arranged for a deep clean and sent a fruit basket but this didn't make up for the horrors of our first night in the Grand Mecure! We also visited another few rooms to see if they were any better but they were also dirty! We decided to keep the first one. I really didn't want to sleep in the room even after the deep clean but alas I was knackered and gave in.

    Negatives
    * Very dirty and run down
    * No wifi in rooms, you have to go down to reception if you want to use the internet.
    * Breakfast buffet is inedible
    * Very few lifts that take ages to come and are always packed!

    Positives
    * Located 1 min away from the haram, just need to cross the road - great for the elderly
    * In front of gate 16 which is closest to the women's entrance
    * Helpful managers, they tried to make sure we were happy for the rest of our stay

I'm sure I can come up with more negatives. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone and have no plans to come back.

    My friend also stayed at this hotel last week, she said the following;

it is close to the haram and its cheaper than others. I would say the biggest problem is the lift! It's a nightmare. Rooms on 1st floor have been refurbished so are much better.

To be fair, they were quick to rectify the problem and offered us the presidential suite. They also gave free pizza and a case of water lol, so random but appreciated. Still never going back!

    mashallah,
have been able to visit dallah taibah multiple times in the last few yeats and that hotel is fantastic only with a slight problems with the lifts.
they have renovated rooms which are up to date and very nice, they also have executive rooms which are even of higher quality but the price is higher.
they also have budget rooms which are not as excellent quality but still nice,
when booking dallah make sure to ask your agent for a renovated room.

These hotels are located behind the quran complex, also the nearest sisters entrance is gate 25 (rawdah entrance for srs) and also no food shops around that area...

No such thing available in most hotels. Take your own travel kettle if you are teaalholic.

Yousuf bhai, an extra SR30 riyals (that's what a small electric kettle costs) will not put a dent in your budget I am sure. If you like Liptons, then buy a packet over there otherwise Tetley, from here, will boil just as well in the kettle you will invest in InshaAllah.

Having said that, I will be very surprised if Shaza does not provide a kettle. Just pick up the phone and call housekeeping to send you one. Bin Dawood aint very far from Shaza and tea bags, sugar and fresh milk available from the Baqala downstairs.

This hotel is very close to the haramain, gate 15 i think. Easy access to the sisters section and the rawdah section for sisters

Other than that the hotel is dreadful run down

If they give you a run down room, request for a room change thats what my friend did and she was placed on the 1st floor.

    Sorry.

Shaza faces the sisters entrance. It was also trip advisor travellers choice hotel 2016 (or 2015)

Pullman zam zam is a new hotel which is located behind the quran complex. i think the room rates are cheaper than shaza. This hotel faces the brothers entrances.

I would not hesitate to recommend the Shaza at all.

Hahaha MashaAllah. Do you enjoy the kahwa and dates at salaaj time.

Not many Britain here at all.

Enjoy your stay in the beautiful city

The Hyatts breakfast in Makkah is even better.

    Re: madina hotel reviews

I've read two reviews so far about Shaza Al Madina which mention that the hotel does not allow food from outside to be brought inside the hotel ? Can anyone confirm if this is correct ?

Absolutely ridiculous if it's true and will totally put me off booking this hotel altogether.

BTW if anyone knows any more hotels who have the same stance whether in Makkah or Madinah please let me know. Jzk
