Failing that another entrance on main road.....I really like the hotel, service, staff, efficiency etc and a beautiful Haram View

If the price isnt that much different I would go with Fairmount.

Who are you booking with btw?
I never stayed in Swiss but all my customers who have give good rating and feedback only problem is that they complain when they get to Madinah because hotels there are not same standard as Swiss

Salaam - the only reason am thinking of going with this hotel is becuause the agent is offering this hotel on full board basis.

I have to decide to go with al Massa hotel with full board basis or go with a 5* hotel with bed and breakfast.

If you are getting full board good price then go for it location wise it is good.

    Re: makkah hotel reviews

I can understand that - I had a quick look & agree tripadvisor is doing it no favours. Nevertheless our room was clean & comfortable - we had a huge double bed & a single - even though it was just the 2 of us. & definitely no mould in the bathroom otherwise I would have asked to be moved for sure! Maybe it depends on which room you end up in...
We are going for Umrah in Feb & are staying at Hilton Suites InshaAllah- that seems to be clean, modern & spacious

We also had a full board package when we stayed at Al Massaa during Hajj time. Although the food was good, we were informed the previous cooks were better by people who had done hajj with that group before. But it was worth staying there rather than in a 5* due to the convenience of not having to worry about food- especially in the evening when there were long queues in the clock tower restaurants. We could eat in a short period of time and head off to the haram as it was quieter at that time

    Jzk for the reply.

Can you tell me the conditions of the room? Also what kind of food was it? I.e Indian etc

By any chance did you go with a tour operator from Bolton?

Yes inshallah going on Easter hols, few of us so require food provided or otherwise I would've considered another hotel. Jzk

Yes it was a tour group from Bolton!

Food catered for Indians (Gujarati mostly) & we could find something nice to eat each time. However, I would try to get info from people who have been with the group more recently as cooks/standards may have changed.

Our room was nice - we had no complaints- spacious, comfortable & decent for a hotel 3-4 * standard

    Re: makkah hotel reviews

A full board or a half board option during umrah / hajj is highly recommended . Usually hajj packages are full board during 5 days of hajj and half board on other days.

If you can afford it go for half board during umrah too . It saves time plus Buffett meal will cater for family with different dietary needs, likes and dislikes ... .

My boys have severe egg allergy and baby daughter has lactose intolerance . My elder father and mother in law can only have very bland food. For us going half board this umrah trip was very very convenient .

Most important it saves you time finding a place to eat and queuing up. Each and every minute is so precious there !

Anyone have stayed or heard review of elaf bakkah hotel? Online reviews are good, it is far for walking but they have 24 7 shuttle which is good based on reviews online.

    Would highly recommend this!

My experience during Hajj time of being in Makkah and Madinah was much better knowing that I did not have to worry about meals and queuing etc. In my opinion, it is worth the extra cost and also at the bigger hotels there is a huge variety and thus suits different tastes. The only caveat is that if you are someone that can't live without Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi food then this option may not be for you as you wouldnt typically get these at the Intercontinental/Fairmont etc

Do you go there every now and then?

I just went to Makkah for hajj once and stayed in a hotel in the clock tower. No complains, but air conditioning systems in Saudi are either too cold that they give you a headache or they are uncomfortably on the warmer side. I have seen it in hotels in Makkah and Madinah.

Also it would be good if everybody can share pics of the hotels they have stayed in as well.

It would be good if someone is looking for a review.

Has anyone stayed at the Movenpick recently? Is the entrance via the mall only or is there a separate entrance?

It's via the mall. The lifts in the mall take you to a floor which has all the entrances and receptions to each of the hotel towers. From there you take the hotel's specific lift.

Yes many of friends say the same. The decor for hilton suites is waaaay better than the hilton hotel facing the haramain.
Hilton facing the haramain rooms are clean, breakfast is good.

Since its close to the haramaain we over look the decor part!

You need to walk its not that far around 6-7 mins walk to Masjid gate & 2-3 mins to the new extension when it is open on Friday.

“Mu'min” is more that just a title. It is to have Imaan established in the heart and testified to by the limbs.

My family has stayed at this hotel, they liked the hotel.
Its a 5* because it's close to the haramain, its probably 5 min walk to the haramain...the hotel faces the cheapy sharwama places between al barj mall and the hilton hotel.

Its a pretty old hotel but i think the rooms have been refurbished check trip advisor

630/10 it's perfect as soon as you return from fajr straight to breakfast then nice sleep to catch up.Less than 5 mins to haram straight out of mall straight to gate 73/74 which are not main doors so no rush and open most of time then straight to Mataf area either turn right and down stairs for king fahd gate which is busy or much better left and down stairs al umrah gate
