Lightbulb the method of making maadee majhool

    Salaamu'alaykum,

    InshaAllah your all well,

Just wondering if anyone can help me with changing a maadee ma'roof to a maadee majhool.
Now I know about faa kalimah(has a dammah), 'ayn kalimah(has a kasrah) and laam kalimah(left as it is). Can anyone tell me what about the extra letters? do they have a dammah or fathah?

Can anyone help me asap please

    JazaakAllah khair

there is no extra letter other than ( Faa , ayn, laam)
    what do you mean?

if you mean for example : ضَرَبَه (he beated him)
when you make it ( Majhool) you must remove هـ from the end.
you just make it ضُرِبَ , that means هو ضُرِبَ = he was beaten.
    not extra letter.

    Wa 'alaikum assalaam.

It sounds like you are asking how to form the majhool of mazeed verbs (verbs with extra letters added to the original 3 letters). Well the rule for forming the majhool works for ALL verbs, be they mujarrad (verbs with original letters only) or mazeed.

Here is the rule for forming the majhool of verbs that are maadiy:

Put kasra on the 'ain al-kalima (second to last root letter), and put dammah on EVERY letter before the 'ain al-kalima that has a vowel sign (remember that sukun is not a vowel sign).

Here are some examples from mujarrad verbs: daraba - duriba; fataha - futiha; sa'ala - su'ila.

Here are some examples from mazeed verbs:
anzala (hamza added to nazala) - unzila; istafhama (hamza, seen, taa' added to fahima) - ustufhima

I pray that this is clearer now.
