Re: Who is your favourite recitor?

Hussary - I listen to him to supplement my tajweed classes.

Idris Abkar - My current favourite reciter

Shuraim - Always liked his recitation

Old Mishary was nice, now I dont listen to him much

Abdur Rashid As Sufi is another one I started to like as I got older.

    But Hussary is the man.

Edit: There was another one I havent listened to for some time now, sheikh Saleh something, from the haram.

There is rest only in the aakhira.
Man will rest in the aakhira according to how hard he strives in dunya.

The best qari is Hussary, no doubt about that. The one I prefer to listen to is Minshawi. I also like the recitation of Muhammad Jibreel, Al-'Uyun Al-Kushi, Shuraim, Salah bukhatir and I could go on and on..man it's hard not to mention them all :/

Re: Who is your favourite recitor?

First I loved Ahmed bin Al-Ajmy. The Verses in which he recites with his voice normal is JUST amazing. But then his voice breaks down in the other Surahs.

Then I liked Al-fasy and then Muaqlai. But now I don't listen to anyone....how sad...actually I am going to listen right now. This thread is a good reminder!

Meshary Rashid al Efasy... Probably since I listened to his recitations all the time on i-phone during my stay in Indonesia and Malaysia, and song is always a strong associator with memories. I am a relative newcomer to Islam, and he was the first recitor I heard. I assume therefore, he shall always be my favourite.

Re: Who is your favourite recitor?

    Asalaamu 'alaykum,

As someone said above, Idris Abkar. Currently a favourite.

The Prophet (saw) said, Verily, the knots of Islam will be undone one by one. Whenever one knot is lost, then the people grabbed onto the one which came after it. The first of these knots will be ruling and the last will be the salah.[1]

The author of Sitoon as-Sultaniyah says about this Hadith: “It was the Prophet who tied together the knots of Islam, including the uppermost knot of ruling after he established the Islamic state…As mentioned by Imam Mawardi the leadership has been proscribed as the succession of the Prophet in protecting the deen and governing the societal affairs. In this respect – Imam Baidawi mentioned that the Imama/Khalifah is the succession from the Prophet in the establishment of the laws of the Shari’ah. So without the Imam the laws lie unapplied and the territory is not protected effectively. The hadith indicates that it is the uppermost knot that keeps the subsequent knots safe from being untied. This is since it is the ruler that is responsible to apply Islam in its entirety, to implement the limits proscribed by Allah and to protect the society. Imam Ahmed mentioned without an Imam (for the Muslims as their leader) there would be fitna, and the destruction of the symbols of Islam ending with the Prayer is a great fitna.[2]
