i cant decide ..they all are amazing masha'Allah but

...i think it might be sheikh sudais though..but really ever recitor ive listened to offer such compelling recitations masha'Allah. May Allah Subhanhu Wa Tha'ala put immense barakah in each of their recitations. Ameen

different reciter for different surah. I love Mohammad al Mohassiny the best because I can feel the emotion in the voice. Makes it stronger imo

Hosary and minshawi are definetly at the top without doubt may allah have mercy upon them both. followed by scholars such as abdelbasit and mustafa ismail and other may allah have mercy on all of them .

voice then i dont mind as long the recitor doesnt over do it on the maqamam what comes to mind is shaykh maher al muhaiqily and al afasy may allah preserve them both and grant them jannah.

i prefer the pure unique voice that stays away from excessive use of maqam and just keeps it simple someone like shaykh hudaifi and shaykh adil al kalbani and shaykh abu bakr ashateri etc

Re: Who is your favourite recitor?

masha Allah ^ one of my favorites too!

At the moment, it is Muhammad Taha Al Junaid.

The Prophet (saw) said, Verily, the knots of Islam will be undone one by one. Whenever one knot is lost, then the people grabbed onto the one which came after it. The first of these knots will be ruling and the last will be the salah.[1]

The author of Sitoon as-Sultaniyah says about this Hadith: “It was the Prophet who tied together the knots of Islam, including the uppermost knot of ruling after he established the Islamic state…As mentioned by Imam Mawardi the leadership has been proscribed as the succession of the Prophet in protecting the deen and governing the societal affairs. In this respect – Imam Baidawi mentioned that the Imama/Khalifah is the succession from the Prophet in the establishment of the laws of the Shari’ah. So without the Imam the laws lie unapplied and the territory is not protected effectively. The hadith indicates that it is the uppermost knot that keeps the subsequent knots safe from being untied. This is since it is the ruler that is responsible to apply Islam in its entirety, to implement the limits proscribed by Allah and to protect the society. Imam Ahmed mentioned without an Imam (for the Muslims as their leader) there would be fitna, and the destruction of the symbols of Islam ending with the Prayer is a great fitna.[2]

Mahmoud Khalil Al Husary, omg love this man so much may Allah have mercy on him. He's all I listen to, and it can be any of his sets. Mujawwad, murattal, his fast murattal, his other narrations. Doesn't matter, he's tops. And since he has so many sets, you never get bored. He has so many different ways of reciting too, sometimes normal, other times very sad. Absolutely love this man, I wish I can start a website dedicated to him, I'm really thinking about it.

The best I've heard from him:

    Part 1

    Part 2

First two ayat in part 2... never heard better in my life.

My favourite reciter is Mahmoud Khalil Al-husary Mashallah so beautiful wallahi words cant describe it, he has so many different ways reciting the quran and imagine the rewards he still gets subhanallah. And many teachers recommand to listen to him when learning the quran, his tajweed is just perfect to me. What an honour to be his student and mashallah his children are still teaching Quran in Masjid Al-Husary in city october (Cario) and i think his daugther build that masjid masallah.

My apologies sushi you asked so long ago but only now I notice.

From what I've gathered listening to murattal and mujawwad, murattal is a faster style of recitation whereas mujawwad is a very slow heavy style where every letter is pronounced so clearly. Also the tone and everything is usually quite different indeed. If you go on tanzil.net you can choose reciters. Try listening to a verse from Al Husary versus Al Husary mujawwad. It's the same reciter but you will notice a big difference.

Shiekh abdur rahman as saudis - Nice fast paced with tajweed in taraweeh.

Mishary al afasy - He puts the omph in the recitation and makes it emotional as well.

Shiekh abu bakr ash shatri - He is a middle reciter, not too slow or fast. IMO he's saudis and afasy put together.

Wa alaykum as-salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu,

    Mishary al afasy

It's really easy to memorize when listening to him.

Sheikh Minshaawi (rahimahullaah). No one reads Surah Taha as beautifully as he does!
