    Your Excellency, Mr. Ambassador:

This is in reference to a published report on October 9th, 2009 by DeshGujarat (http://deshgujarat.com/2009/10/09/gu...sit-indonesia/) that the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi has been invited to visit Indonesia by Mr. Syavral Yasin Limpo, Governor of Indonesia’s South Sulawesi province.

In February 2002, as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Modi presided over and orchestrated widespread riots in which about 2000 hapless Muslims were massacred and more than 200,000 were rendered homeless. The execution of what has been called the Gujarat Genocide has been widely reported and documented by the media (http://www.tehelka.com/home/20071103/ ; http://bit.ly/qR7fO ; http://bit.ly/qOdTB)

Tens of thousands of displaced Muslims are still unable to return to their homes fearing further attacks. The process of justice has been subverted to deny justice to the victims. There have been many incidences of harassment of Christians and burning of Churches.

Mr. Modi and 61 others that include cabinet colleagues, policemen and civil servants currently are under criminal investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) specially constituted by the Supreme Court of India for their role into allegations of mass murder and criminal conspiracy.

The US and many European countries have already denied entry visa to Mr. Modi in punishment for his role in the Gujarat carnage. More recently Sultanate of Oman denied Mr. Modi’s claim that he was invited by Oman (http://twocircles.net/2009oct25/oman...vited_you.html). With the well-deserved harvest of global condemnation, Mr. Modi is desperately courting foreign investments and collaboration to mend his image as a progressive in an effort towards a political restitution, through a visit to Indonesia. The question is - Will Indonesia offer Mr. Modi that restitution, by legitimizing his record of promoting hatred and violence against the minority Muslims and Christians of Gujarat.

We, the signatories to this petition, request the genteel, peace and justice loving people of Indonesia, and the enlightened government of His Excellency Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to rescind visa to Mr. Modi and make investments and collaborations with the Gujarat government contingent on justice to the innocent victims of the Gujarat Massacre. This will reaffirm the morality-based friendship of Indonesia and India, without the stain of appearing to condone Mr. Modi’s crimes against humanity.

    Respectfully,

Online petition demands Indonesia to rescind Modi’s visit

    By TwoCircles.net Staff Reporter,

New Delhi: After the success in getting a clarification issued from the Government of Oman that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was never invited as official guest to the country, the group has put an online petition demanding the Government of Indonesia to rescind the scheduled visit of the BJP leader under whose rule thousands of innocents were massacred in Gujarat in 2002.

Embarrassed by the Oman clarification through an advertisement in The Hindu daily on October 23, Modi and his image managers have been desperate to secure a visit to any Muslim country so that the stigma he is carrying of the bloody pogrom could fade.

The state BJP Government has worked overtime to make Modi acceptable especially after he was denied an entry in the US in 2005 after human rights groups put pressure on the US Government to not allow him enter the country. A large number of countries from the Muslim world were invited to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit in January 2009.

According to media reports Modi is trying to cash in on the proposal from the cash-rich Salim Group, founded by an Indonesian Muslim, Sudono Salim, to set up a 10,000MW coal-based power plant at Bogath in Jamnagar district. Salim Group’s Harjono Gudani, general manager, finance, reportedly met S Jagadeesan, principal secretary, energy, during the Vibrant Gujarat investors’ summit in January 2009.

“Modi is targeting smaller players in the hope to eventually move bigger ones, enabling him to come to the center and become the Prime Minister some day. We got to stop that,” said the group that made the online petition.

British Indian Muslims urge OIC to declare Modi persona non grata

    By TwoCircles.net News Desk,

New Delhi: British Indian Muslims have urged Organisation of Islamic Countries to declare the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, persona non grata and instruct its member countries to ask their ambassadors in New Delhi neither to accept any invitation by him nor to extend one to him.

In its four page memorandum sent to OIC Head office, Jeddah, Turkish Foreign Ministry, Indonesian Foreign Ministry, Indonesian Embassy in London and New Delhi, Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) has urged the 25th OIC Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation being held in Istanbul, “to declare the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi persona non grata, who, according to Indian newspapers, has been invited for a visit by one of OIC member country, Indonesia.”

“Earlier in November 2008” the memorandum reads, “a similar invitation was extended to him by the government of Qatar but the visit was later cancelled. Recently in 2009 Sultanate of Oman also extended its hand to honour this mass murderer of Muslims. However, after online signature campaigns and protests by the Indian Muslims and justice loving non-Muslims, Government of Oman clarified that it had nothing to do with the invitation and a non Omani company working there had invited Modi on its own initiative.”

Reminding the OIC Heads of states of Modi’s crimes and quoting from human rights organisations’ reports, newspapers and magazine reports, CIM memorandum reads, “Excellencies, as far as the policies of Modi’s government are concerned, nothing has changed and eight years on, the Muslim community in Gujarat is still subjected to a devastating economic and social boycott, institutionalised at every level.

“... by inviting and honouring a mass murderer of Muslims like Modi by none but the Muslim countries themselves, a dangerous message is being given to anti-Muslim elements in India.“

The memorandum emphasises, “Excellencies, we are pained to see the silence of this eminent body on the injustices to which the 150 million Indian Muslims have been subjected. Far from fulfilling its duty to, at least, deplore the crimes meted out upon them the OIC as an organisation and its member states in their individual capacities are giving a green signal to anti-Muslim forces in India to do with Muslims what they like.

“Therefore, Excellencies, we request you to use your good offices, ask the Indonesian Government to withdraw this invitation and issue a communiqué declaring Narendra Modi an Islamophobe and ask all member states to declare him a persona non grata and instruct OIC countries’ ambassadors neither to accept an invitation by Modi led government in Gujarat nor to extend an invitation to this fascist.”

An online petition urging the Indonesian Government to withdraw its invitation to Modi has also been launched by American based Indian Muslims and Dr. Najid Hussain son-in-law of former Member of Parliament Ehsan Jafri, who was dismembered while still alive by the rioters incited by Modi. What's shocking is that non-Muslim nations like the United States refuse this war-criminal entry, yet certain Muslim countries couldn't care less whether he's admitted or not.

    How sad
