Personally my opinion is that if your going to learn Islam then if its possible then you should attend an institute to learn it under the guidance of scholars, the experience is a whole lot more real and beneficial.

There's a new institute recently opened in Lancashire which offers the two year condensed 'alima' course at Abrar Academy. Its relatively new so you'll have to contact them regarding what they offer.

    Their website:

There is a place in Lancaster (Lancashire) and another one in Blackburn.

I am not sure they do 2 year courses but my niece is at Lancaster doing a 6 year course, I know another option is a 3 year course there.

It's just a brief version of alimah course but in the first year you learn:
    Tajweed
    Riyadh-us-Saliheen
    Ar-Raheeq-al-Makhtum(taught much more in depth)
    Tafseer of the Qur'an
    Fiqh and Aqaaid
It's in Arabic and English and it's for 16+. Also, because Abrar is a part time darul uloom there are 5 lessons meanwhile in Jamea there's 8. N.B. The Alimah/Hifz Course is 6 Lessons in the evening for girls(and age does NOT matter).
