There is no such thing as best time and day, although I have heard people say that waking up in the night, praying qiyam al layl and then making dua is the best way... But I dont have any credible source for this...

Basically, as long as you are honest in your dealings with Allah and sincere in your requests, Allah will listen to you... Remember, Allah will not give you what you want... he will only give you what is best for you and what you need...

Abu Hurayrah (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Our Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven, when only one third of the night has remained. He says: “Who will invoke Me, so that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim] In another report, he adds: “Then Allah extends His Hand and says: “Who wants to invest (good deeds) with the One who is not wasteful or unjust?” He continues to say this until the dawn arrives.” [Saheeh Muslim]

Jabir (radhi allahu anhu) reported, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) saying: “There is an hour of the night which no Muslim person encounters and asks for a good thing for this life or the Hereafter, but Allah grants it to him. This happens every night.” [Saheeh Muslim]

Abu Umamah (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) was once asked: “When are the supplications most acceptable?” He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) replied: “In the last depth of the night and at the end of the prescribed prayers.” [(hasan) by Shaikh al-Albanee (at-Tirmidhee)]

Muadh bin Jabal (radhi allahu anhu) reported that Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Whenever a Muslim goes to bed in a pure state (with wudhu), falls asleep while mentioning Allah and then wakes up during the night and asks Allah for anything good, He grants it to him.” [(saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee (Musnad Ahmad and at-Tirmidhee)]

There is actually no specific time or day when Allah will accept your Dua because Allah is always with us in our hearts. If we are good, honest, faithful and offer prayer 5 times a day and can keep Allah happy with our good deeds, then surely He will help us and give us what's best for us He thinks. And sometimes He might also give us what we want so it depends upon Him what He chooses best for us.You can ask for anything to Allah anytime of the day.But I have heard that doing Dua after each prayer session is the best.

Allah listens all day. But in the 3rd part of the night He comes down and accepts the Duas of those who are worshiping and are in Ibadah (in the time of Tajahud) if i'm wrong please correct me, or add on.

    O thou folded in garments!

Stand (to pray) by night, but not all night

Half of it― or a little less

Or a little more; and recite the Qur'an in slow, measured rhythmic tones

Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message

Truly the rising by night is most potent for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (framing) the Word (of Prayer and Praise).

    Al Salam Alaikum WR WB,

SUNNAH of ALLAH SUBHANAAHU WA TAALA with HIS slaves is to teach them (duas etc), grant them oppurtunity to seek and when sought, grant them, AlhamduLILLAAH.

The fact that the desire/urge has risen in you to seek from none but ALLAH SUBHANAAHU WA TAALA is a very good Omen, Maasha ALLAH (SWT).

So in due course of time, you will be taught through some one or somehow what to ask & how & when, Insha ALLAH (SWT). Remember there is a time for every thing so please do not lay your own time frame.

I have been taught that the best way to seek is to THANK what little I have and AlhamduLILLAAH as the good book guarantees that THANKS GIVING RESULTS IN BARAKAT/ABUNDANCE, AlhamduLILLAAH. So what ever you desire will be present with you albeit/may be in small measure that might make you think you do not have it at all and hence the urgent need. So please thank HIM & HIS GLORIOUS MERCY for that little with you and soon the flood gates of Heaven will open up for you, Insha ALLAH (SWT).

May ALLAH SUBHANAAHU WA TAALA grant you, your hearts desire and may your heart desire all that ALLAH (SWT) has granted you, Amin.

    Wa Al Salam
