Attributing new justifications for Hadith leads you astray.

The Hadith mentioned was to do with safety, from the dangers of flame lamps being left lit.

Jabir ibn Abdullah quotes the Prophet as saying: “Secure your doors, tighten your drinking water containers, cover your saucepans, and put off your lights. Satan does not open a secured door, loosen a knot, or uncover a saucepan. However, a mouse could set a house on fire.” (Related by Al-Bukhari and Al-Tirmidhi). Similar instructions are given in another Hadith also narrated by Jabir quoting the Prophet as saying: “Refrain from staying up late after the night has become quiet, for you do not know what creatures God sends around. Secure your doors, tighten your drinking water containers, cover your saucepans and put out your lights.” (Related by Al-Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad and Ahmad).

bro the source is from an islamic book. I personally do not think that the hadith is being distorted or changed in anyway?

The hadith exposes a possible danger that lamps can cause. In this day and age more dangers have been exposed (as you can see from my initial post) and the author seems to have gone back to the hadith of the Prophet SAW to show how much wisdom is in that statement, she hasnt denied or changed it to anything else, so i personally do not see anything wrong in that

I hate light, but I asked my mum to come and open the curtains, whilst im fast asleep, or i'll sleep for ever lol
