Laptop touchpad cursor frozen

Assalaamualaykum,

The cursor on my laptop has frozen, like when I touch the touchpad the cursor will not move.

I attached a USB mouse and the cursor works fine.

so what's wrong? can I fix it myself or do I need to take it back to the place I bought my laptop from? (I have a guarantee)?

Take it back to where you got your laptop from as you have guarantee. They should fix it for you free of charge. By the way, which laptop is it?

you havent got a button on it do you which turns it on and off?

if it is orange, you've turned it off, if its blue, it's on. mine is just above my touchpad

bro nami- its an acer aspire 5720, just bought it like a week ago as an emergency because my hubby knocked my previous laptop over the sofa arm and it's broken and I was in middle of writing my dissertation and other assignments, so needed a laptop asap, got this Acer but I'm really not liking it. and now this touchpad thing has happened,, I don't want it anymore..not sure if the store will take it back and give us a refund or alow us to swap for another laptop.

It turns out there is a function!

I didn't think of the button before because my previous laptop doesn't have one. however I just went on google and did a search and it turns out on this model you've gotta press F7!!

I tried it and wuhoo it works now no more usb mouse. although I still don't like the laptop..want a different one..

Try pressing the Fn + F7 key. You may have the ability to enable and disable the touch pad on your laptop.

there should be a keyboard lock button

check the F keys at the top

for my acer comp it was F7, and I had to press Fn at the same time.
