He looked me in the eye
And then he told me his heart
He said I cry like you cry
And I'm afraid of the dark
He said I'd like to put this gun down
And go home today
But it seems
That war won't go away.
He said, I bleed like you bleed
And it tears me apart
I need to know,
Where does peace start?
He said I cry like you cry
As I watch your flag fly
He looked me in the eye
and he told me his heart
And then he said,
Where does peace start?

Great poem! Reminds me of that of written during World War One, or was it Two?
It was about two soldiers facing each other, and it was inevitable what was about to happen - one would kill the other. The writer contemplated the situation they were in, one line even in thought about the other's Mother's suffering, and yet he killed him. It was a very powerful poem...
Hmm...
