    behave!
The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it, but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities (but he remains patient till Allah removes his difficulties.) And an impious wicked person is like a pine tree which keeps hard and straight till Allah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes.

Naturally, their not exactly exemplary Muslim role models are they? But, our shabbab follow them instead of men of our Ummah today such as our Mujahideen and 'Ullema nor the leaders from our beautiful past such as our Rasul (saw) or Companions (ra).

Sayyiduna Umar (Allah be pleased with him) said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) say, “If you relied on Allah as He should be relied on, He would provide for you as He provides for birds.

Do not try to run away from trials and tribulations, but endure them with patience. They cannot be avoided, and there is nothing for it but to endure them with patience. How can you expect the whole of this world, and all that has been created therein, to undergo change and transformation just to suit your convenience? The Prophets are the best of all creatures, yet they have always had to suffer afflictions and so it is for their followers, those who tread in their footsteps as they walk along their highway, emulating their example.

They are normal people like you and me that followed the wrong path. They might be Muslims, but non-practicing Muslims. And as for the role model part, the parents shouldn't even allow their kids to watch this. If they do then thats their fault. They have to face the consequences! The parents let their children so many things and then complain about how bad they have become! From the beginning they should have time for them and teach them stories about the Prophets and their companions so they wouldn't have to want to be like these singers! I wouldn't blame the "future messed up shabab" on the singers, I would blame it on their parents!

Shaykh if you observe the lyrics of many rap/ pop stars even Tupac you will see they mention Allah (swt) or even the name of Rasul (saw) in their lyrics- some mention sallah and even Ramadhan (than in the same track/ album he's all swearing and call women 'b*tches and hoes', etc.) but this does not mean that their Muslim.

I agree of course they have followed to wrong path- not like zinah, drugs, crime, etc. their involved in is from Islam.

As for where the blame lies than it lies on all parties- the parents for not raising them in accordance to the deen nor giving due care and attention, the children for not obeying their parents in good and not searching for the haqq themselves, and also these jahil pop stars/ actors for claiming to be Muslim yet being far from Islam than by doing so misleading the shabbab who follow and admire them seeing what 'sucessful' lives they lead with all the money, record deals, bling bling jewels, cash, etc. in the dunyah.

why Amr Diab is not in the list?

he deserve to be in this list more than ever before.....he changed his course....the Anti Obscenity Coalition removed his name from the black list after he took an oath never to let semi naked girls dance in his video clips

Well in some cases it is clearly incorrect as their not Muslim, in the other they are sinful jahil but Muslim until they do something to come out of the fold of Islam.

And Arab/ Asian/ European, etc. so what? If they all do sins than their just as wrong as each other whether claiming to be Muslim or otherwise no matter their race.

Outlandish have a Christian in their bad boy band.

Akon sings about women, crime, etc.

Nas drinks alcohol, smokes weed, does zinah, etc.

Ice Cube is basically the same as Nas.

MC Ren is the same as Ice Cube.

And so on and so on. *Rolls Eyes*

"Beware of the people of personal opinion (in Deeni matters), because the people of opinion are the enemy of the Sunnah, they were unable to safeguard the Ahaadeeth, so they speak (in matters of the Deen) with their opinion, so they go astray and they lead others astray."

Forgive me if i appear harsh or tactless at time in my replies, I have a great amount of ghayrah for my deen, thus I am quickly angered when people mistreat it.

With those kind of 'Muslims' on the list, you might as well include Lounčs Matoub. *rolls eyes so much they fall out of head*

And I don't believe Nas ever claimed to be a Muslim. Have you ever heard his song 'Nature of the Threat'? It basically describes how white folk are a genetic abnormality who were chased out of Africa by blacks, the original humans, and how we whites are all gay and stuff like that..

Yeah it annoys me in their lyrics when they rap stuff like ''even whites boys do'' and things like that

let's hope he stays on the right course, inshaAllah and doesn't end up yo yo-ing like Hicham Abbas [remember his nari nari days and his asma-ul-husna -- or am i mistaken about his 'yo-yo' status...? ]

    hahahahah

it's not a yo yo status or anything.......they don't believe music is haram....so they sing love songs and religious songs......Amr Diab sung one of the most beautiful religious songs ever in his golden era of dirty video clips......Hesham Abbas's "Asma'a Allah Al-Husna" came out along with his most famous love songs too.........it's not like they were singing religious songs then turned to other genres......
