    What a'qida are you?

I was hoping to get a census on this. No sarcastic remarks, please. This is important, as future articles I post will be based on this poll.

because we don't get into those details and its not possible. We just know what is mentioned in the texts, so we affirm them and then leave it at that. Some have tried to "know Allah" using ilm ul kalaam in order to try to respond to your last question, however that became one of the causes of controversy that lead to the different groups.

The Sahaba were the best generation but even they weren't known as "Arifbillah". When one worships Allah then imaan also increases so there shouldnt be a need to ask that question. However if someone has doubts then they can approach a scholar of that field, but learning that stuff is not a necessary thing for everyone.

That's what I meant, brother. I meant, knowing the concept, and knowing the limits and understanding as the early generations understood it. We don't want people going around saying Allah has hands without knowing that it doesn't mean Allah resembles human beings. Aoudubillah.
Secure few moments, everyday, to reflect upon the innumerable blessings of Allah and thank Him for bestowing them upon you.

I don't know who they are. But, without learning aqeedah how will you know what's correct and what's not? You can't just know these things by yourself.

That would be the Athari/Maturidi, here 95% of muslims stand.

The Athari/Maturidi Creed is the laymen's creed. Imagine you just reverted into Islam, or had an ephiphany towards deen after living an un-islamic life. What would your first thoughts be when you read these verses about Allah's hands, sitting on throne, foot and etc? ......You will either remain silent on it or simply say I don't know the meaning (only Allah knows).

    Aqeedah is simple.

Our creed is Islam. The message sent to Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) by the Lord of the Universe and the life of the Prophet as the practical embodiment of that (Quran). Look there are some Muslims who believe being gay is alright. That is their belief which contravenes the creed of Islam. Our creed is Islam.

Very true we do not possess the capability to appreciate what the nature of Allah is. It is useless us trying. Accept the revealed verses but also accept that the full nature of Allah is not declared.

That's what I know of them, as well. They are not Muslims, yet they go around claiming that "Qadiyaani is the true message of Islam."

Not really. If you believe in the Kalimah, and believe in Surah al-Ikhlas and have the beliefs common to all Muslims such as beliefs in Angels, Books, Messengers, Judgment, Destiny, Hereafter etc then thats enough. If you've read al-Aqidah at-Tahawiyyah with a Sunni Alim then even better. This will suffice a sound heart.

go back over your notes. Introduction to the Kitab: Haadha dhikru bayaani aqidatu ahlis sunnati wal jama'ati. Imam Tahawi begins the kitab by mentioning it is an exposition of the Aqidah of the ASWJ, according to the madhab of the Fuqaha of the Nation, Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Abu Yusuf and Imam Muhammad.

So it's the Aqidah of the ASWJ.

They are more refined classes of Aqidah. I don't want to get into discussing them for a number of reasons:

    a) I don't have sufficient knowledge
    b) It doesn't concern me and my present state as a matter of urgency
    c) It'll start a debate with no-one really benefitting anything at it's conclusion than what they had at the beginning.

    Yes.

One of their beliefs is that faith does no increase and decrease. To be honest, that is the only one I know and enough for me not to take up their aqeedah (this by the way is not criticism to detract you or anyone from their aqeedah but just what I experienced).
The scholars of the past made takfiir of one another. Do not expect the layman to be any different.

    Re: What a'qida are you?

Why is ''Surah Al Ikhlas'' is not in the poll option? ;-)

that should be the primary aqeeda for all who professes kalima. there. no need for hair-splitting if you don't wish to. that's why the weight of this surah is 1/3 of Quran

And all the heavens go their way.... And only change is here to stay...

    That is all you need.
There is rest only in the aakhira.
Man will rest in the aakhira according to how hard he strives in dunya.
