Salams lovely people,
Tell me, ways, methods etc to master languages efficiently. I've been trying and spending a lot on learning German and French (required for my field of specialization) but so far, doesnt seem to be that fruitful. A part from lack of self motivation, I'm also lazy sometimes. I wish to be thrown into a remote Dorf in Germany and remote village in France where noone speaks any English:(. Time is running and there will be foreign language exams too in my future studies....i feel useless.

I know it can be difficult but when I was learning arabic I went to an arabic country. I had no choice but pick it up....The problem was upon returning I have spanish clients and when I would try to speak to them I would mix a little spanish a little english and an arabic word here and there...I dont know how people can keep 4-5 languages fluent.

Listen, watch, and force urself to speak even if u are speaking incoherently.. the only way to learn language is to speak it.

Not sure that I can help you...I learned Iroquois and English as a child and have only been able to master a smattering of a few languages since. I can usually get by in French and spanish(very similiar languages) but even living in an arab country for 2 years did little for my arabic. Most of my colleagues gave up on me and insisted on speaking english to me :D
