Oh no! Dont get me started off on oyster :55: ur meant to renew the student thingy every yr btw... I applied for mine.. twice they have rejected..once the unis fault, the 2nd time they said my debit card details werent correct... I gave the same ones I gave before and they still managaed to take a fiver :rolleyes: and now the stupid post office lady wrote transport trading ltd wrong ..she spelt it "traiding" :torture:

Found out my uni does the online thing but its not accepting my uni ID.

^^Yusra yeah apparently you do get some sort of refund,did u call them up and ask..One of my friends it took more than the standard 4weeks for her oyster to arrive,and they said they might be able to give her a refund..but in the end they didnt..but its worth calling them up or something..

Hmm, if you havent applied for the new one, check if ur uni does it online, sis done it that way and it came quick..in 6 days or something.

If you have got the new student oyster card for 06/07 then they shouldnt be charging u adult prices.

4 weeks? Noo, its sposed to be 7 working days and then 5 additional days. So no more than around 2 weeks :S

it says it takes two weeks (or maybe 3) - if its taken longer than that then you should be able to get compensated!

oh and for those who can be bothered next year, unis usually open a couple of weeks early so you can get the form sentoff before term starts!

They said they sent it out a week ago and its not their fault I didnt get it and now I have to fill in another application form and give em another cheque and go through the whole procedure again..

But I AM NOT DOING THAT - I'm calling them up tomorrow (InshaAllah) and giving them my two pennies worth.

Because if they have processed it already, i.e. its on their records that they got your application, and they processed your payment.

You know that pre-payment oyster thing? I got a one day travel card on it for £4.90. Then I tried topping it up today and the woman told me I have an extra £5.00 to pay because apparently I didn't swipe out somewhere - I think Liverpool Street?

oh not to mention theres 'nothing I can do about it'.. nowhere to complain either.. you can't fight the system because you don't know WHO runs the system.. I'm so annoyed.

A local shopkeeper, masha'allah as a person he's really nice, but I've boycotted buyin' from his shop 'cos he's such a rip off.

The shop is opposite a school, so poor kids have to pay extortionate prices for chocolates n sweets.

Aside from that he buys say multi-pack bag of crisps 25g and sells 'em individually for full price for like 35p :smack:

Then, when there's cereal offers like 33% extra free or Daz 25% extra free, he bumps up the price so it's not 'free' after all :scratch:

I went through the liverpool street route today.. alhumdulillah..

Otherwise I would have been stuck to.. was it really bad?
