View Full Version : Remove Your Shoes Please.....

Here i will tell u yet another example of some Non-muslims arrogance and narrowmindedness.

Colleague in my office, went to see a client, she came back complaining that the client told her to remove her shoes wen she entered their home,

"i jus wasnt having it! i wasnt!, i took them off but i made sure she (the client) knew i was angry!"

I asked what the problem was, i.e. was their house/floor dirty? or was it cos she had a verruca on her foot ;) to this she replied

"I HAVE VERY CLEAN FEET THANKYOU VERY MUCH! VERY CLEAN I WILL HAVE U KNOW":rolleyes:

yes seriously this is how the woman talks, no tact watsoever.

Anywho, her manager came along and asked her what the problem was, she told him , that she was asked by the "asian" woman to remove her shoes wen she went in her home,

so her manager said: "yeh but what was the problem? cos sometimes u have to , cos your in their home" etc

she goes: "i was uncomfortable with her religous beliefs" (they are sri lankan)

there was jus silence for about wat seemed an eternity, my anger jus rose inside me but i kept my cool and she jus went on and on about how "clean" she is.

i had a word with someone about what she said cos i wanted to complain (her manager didnt say anything at the time cos he scared of her, she is one of those in your face woman) and they said, to ignore her cos she is very tactless etc etc and "ignorant".

She has always got something to say about my hijab but i give as good as i get.

Now can someone tell me what the heck has removing your shoes in someones house got to do with religious beliefs?:rubeyes:

basically, you dont want unclean shoes all over the carpet of ure house? and what about if you want to choose a clean spot to sit on? dogs do their job on the streets it drys up and you walk on it if its wet too..people spit..personally in our house we take people to take their shoes off. its part of cleanliness and cleanliness is half of imaan.

thats so ignorant! seriously...my family are christian and one aunt in particular keeps her house so nice that automatically people remove their shoes and leave them in the porch....she dont even ask...it just out of respect for the way she is and iv never had problem with it

its not about religious beliefs per se...its about respect and if u in someones home and they ask u to remove shoes...so what? they onyl shoes

exactly its manners and respect.

Bottom line, she obviously has negative feelings for muslims and it was seeping thru in the most ridiculous way.

In the morning she goes, "muslim women wear a veil dont they?"

i said yes they do, she goes: " i find it scary to talk to a veiled women cos i cant see their face, it makes me uncomfortable" ,for a minute i thought i was talking to Jack straw!!

i really wanted to throttle her, and i knwo if i got into a discussion with her, she would not let it stay a discussion but a fight  one of those people allah swt warned us about, they are blind ,deaf and dumb, no matter wat u will say they wil still turn away.

If your a non-muslim and your job involves mixing with muslims, and u dont like it, LEAVE, plain and simple

its rediculous that narrowminded people bring everything down to religion!

Its not even an 'asian' thing. My line manager is non Muslim and asks people to remove their shoes when they go into her own home. Lots of people have 'indoor' 'outdoor' footwear.

complete bafoonary. daft woman. Put laxative in her coffee :D

the funny thing is, she went on about how "clean" she is (once she leaned over me and she seriusly stank of vomit, so there goes thats theory) yet is having a hissy fit cos someone for "cleaniliness" purposes asked her to remove her shoes

 A girl from Uni mentioned her mum makes them take their shoes off at the porch..and she's non-Muslim.

Some of my friends, who are Muslim, don't have the no-shoes indoors policy.

Its personal preference. She sounds well cuckoo

oh man how lame is this the same one who brags about her 300 quid bag and taking her son to beg in posh areas?
if she is so up herself maybe she should consider taking off her shoes in her own house too... its basic hygiene! Non Muslims do this too... in all my relatives houses we do this. I mean who really wants mud and dirt and allsorts traipsed in and stomped into their carpet or floor? And when ur in someone's house you have to respect their rules. Lol how rude to get in a mood with the home owner about that. I feel sorry for u working with this lady... well I am finding the stories about her quite amusing :D but for u I'm sure she might get a little irritating
Neway was the lady even Muslim cos even sri lankan budhists prob hav the same clenliness to remove their shoes..

LOL, yeh its the same one!!!!!!! ;)

Judging by the clients name, they didnt seem muslim.

Normally i can handle her but today she really frustrated me, when she said

"yeh their religious beliefs made me uncomfortable"

how the hell does she know what their relgious beliefs are,she spent the whole HOUR giving the poor woman dirty looks.

Oh , wen she took her shoes of and went into her living room, she said:

"I WENT INTO THE LIVING ROOM, PUT MY BAG ON THE FLOOR AND PUT MY FEET ON THE BAG FOR THE WHOLE VISIT, SO THAT THE CLIENT KNEW I AINT HAPPY ABOUT TAKING THEM OFF!"

i think her genuine problem was that the clients were asian and muslim (whihc i dont think they were from the clients name) it was obvious from the way she was talking, everyone asked her "was the floor dirty and grimey?" and she didnt say anything... except

"i was uncomfortable with her relgious beliefs..."

Hasn't she been told her clothing isn't acceptable for the workplace?

Because at a certain workplace, once a client complained about a work colleagues clothing (lack of more like)....but she was buddy's with the manager so nothing happened :freedom:

Other work colleagues used to talk about her....and call her all sorts :help: purely based on her appearance. Mind you, she was nice though...your Julie sounds like a complete plonk :p Shame her appearance let her down :(

sorry if someone's already mentioned this (didn't read the whole thread) but some muslims don;t wear shoes indoors to keep their carpet paak, so they can pray on it! that's what we do anyway, plus its cream, if we kept our outdoor shoes on inside, it would be grey by now and i would be :crying:

i always ask people when i go to their houses if i should keep my shoes on or off...

some of my muslim friends keep shoes on in their houses

and some non-muslim keep their shoes off

its hardly gonna kill you to take your shoes off

When I was growing up, my parents enforced a very rigid "no shoes in the house" policy, except for absolute strangers.

I maintained the tradition. To me, it's common sense, esp. when you see what's commonly on city sidewalks.

And if you've got kids, a "no shoes in the house" policy really cuts down on noise and on overall messiness. Also, I think it helps kids understand the difference between public and private, and that the home is a special place that's apart from the outside world (eg "It's OK to run around and screech and play *outside*, but inside the house we've got different rules.")

Are the british a little more intolerant of muslims than the americans? or is it just me?. Seriously, my sister and I grew up in the U S OF A and only ONCE did we have an incident because we were covered up muslim girls (and she's 25 years old!). Anywho, she got married and moved to london, in a nice little townhome in the suburbs (we've always lived in the suburbs!). Guess what?...her neighbor (some crazy drunk woman) completley flipped. Kept saying she was gonna call INS because my sister was not probably even legal. Things came to a head when they smashed in my sister's car window. My sister called the police ofcourse, luckily the cop that responded was half american and was mad when she heard my sister's story.

But it got me wondering, are the brits a little more racist than the americans?. My sister noticed that they are a little more confrontational than the americans (you never see the americans coming, smiling and all of a sudden you have petition in your mailbox asking you evacute the premise..to keep the neighborhood safe you see..).

they fall for the govts lkies, dont check stuff out for themsleves in regards to islam andthen go onto "flip" on muslims ,making themslves look complete utter fools

You're telling me? We have this new kid at work that just got out of the PPCLI(A Canadian infantry unit) and we were talking. I had told him that I was a muslim now but I used to be airborne.
I don't know if he was trying to impress me by telling me this or just trying to bait me but he started telling me about how he was mad about not getting to go to Afghanistan so he could kill some "towelheads"
My boss overheard and immediately called him into the office and ripped a strip off of him before I did. I guess he didn't want a repeat of the American airforce guy last year :p
I can see that he and I are going to have some issues before the season is out
