Who shaves a babies head ?

you supposed to shave the hair on the 7th day,

do you do it yourself ?

or does someone in the community shave their heads ?

my inlaws said I need to find an asian barber, i asked a brother at the mosque but he said no barber would do it ?

I'm confused

as salaamu alaikum,

my husband took that task of shaving our babies' heads, it doesnlt really matter who does it i guess as long as they have a steady hand :)

btw, is it a boy or a girl :D

Dont you have to give out money in accordance with the weight of the hair To charity as well ....... ?

^ with a razor bro. Obviously the best time to do it when the baby is asleep.

as truth786 mentioned you do have to give gold (silver for girls) equivalent to the weight of the hair in charity.

Salaam.

I have a question. If you use a razor wouldn't it hurt the baby? Or not? Hmm..

Alhamdullillah my brother in law did my little girls :inlove: She slept throughout it and she didn't get cut :) You have to use lots of soap cos its makes the hair come off easily and anyway a newborns hair is very soft and fine anyway. He used a razor :)

Ps. I couldn't watch it be done :embar:
