View Full Version : Islamic inheritenca - can father exclude his sons
Islaamically isit allowed for the father to exclude his wife, and sons from his inheritance? My father has contacted his lawyers and rewritten his will such that my mum and me are exluded to a greater degree from any inheritence of his estate of anything else. Is this allowed.?

I dn't think it is because Allah states in the Qur'an very explicitly how wealth should be inherited, its in chapter 4 an nisaa'

If we lived in an Islamic state then that would apply but if he lives in America or GB then the laws of the land apply to inheritance and shariah is ignored. Best that you could do is get an Imam to speak to him about it and if that fails, hire your own lawyer

Why dont you go and find information from a scholar, there are plenty of them about who can assist you with your query instead of asking such an important question on this forum.
