we hear nowaday about the necessity of union between muslim sects and that promoting dialogue between these sect is good for islam, main islamic sects are first sunni(especially ash'arya and maturidya) then shia(especially ja'farya) and sufi(especially naqshbandi) etc, there was lots of finger pointing between all these sects because each one claims they are the saved sect of islam here's some websites promoting dialogue
http://truemuslim.9.forumer.com
and www.ghufran.com
and etc , there's many many sites
so do u think this kind of dialogue is necessary or is it waste of time ? i personaly think they are good, because we get to understand each other a bit more what do u think?
Salam and Hello
ghufran is not accesible for me at least. The other site will just have forum discussion like any other forum, so I really do not know about the use of this forum to the exclusion of other forums.
But most importantly, I hope that hannibal12 is not the same hannibal that was on the kr-hcy.org forum. Whatever you may think of the forum and its members, if you were to see what the Shia member hannibal did as his angry signing off, you would be more than disgusted at what happened...

I Think More Dialogue Is Needed Because Some People Call People From Other Sects Kaffir Or Misguided Without Even Bothering Studying The Views Of Such People Which Is Ignorant.:)
Salam and Hello,
I will talk about the Shia-Sunni discussions, since this member is a Shia and he is trying to go in that manner. From my experience in Shia-Sunni discussions at least, I think as one side gets to know the other more deeply, sometimes they become more and more hostile towards the other sect.
What I believe the reason for this is that Sunnism and Shiaism are altogether different religions, and the problems are exascerbated by trying to force us (at least from the Sunni side) to accept the Shia as people of the same religion, when in truth the faiths are radically different.
Yes, we can have dialogue with one another in a good manner without disrespect. It is possible to discuss with Christians, Hindus, Atheists, and other people in a respectful manner, and I do not see why Shias should be any different.
However, if we live under the illusion that Shias and Sunnis are mostly alike and can somehow be "united", when the debates and discussions do take place, the anger and shock one side feels towards the other will be much greater than when (for example), Muslims and Christians debate (because in the latter case, each side recognizes that the other is fundamentally different, and the whole paradigms of the discussion change).
This is my short opinion, and this is what I have seen in the many years I have been discussing these matters.
