Salam bro. Its not really a case of "why not!" because if we do want to get a tatoo and if we ask ourself "is there a reason not to get it?" actually there is a good reason... our Lord has prohibited it. But as for that bro, he did it and he did not know, so there is a bit of a difference in that - allahu alam, and may Allah forgive him for it as he did not know and he's not done it out of disobediance to Allah. But still its not really something "cool" to be admired. But masha Allah it is cool how the bro has turned around his life as a result of the deen :D

We aleykum salam, and first of all, I am a sister. I think different still, I'm sorry, cause I have seen that he has a very special relation to this tatoo he let made, i can understand well and it's obvious that he is demonstrating his freedom of the choice to believe as muslim. I don't want to see this brothwer sad about reactions of other "muslims". :) Can you understand this? At least, I just love his pride and freedom in being a muslim! Gives me strenght, and cleanses my heart... So :) Salam

It's not really australian.. but it means like snow white.. so very white area ..

It's also used of very pale skin that is unblemished.. it's said that people have "lilly white skin."

a "lilly white" suit means an all white suit

I assume then that a lilly white area is an area of mainly white skinned people.
