So whos your favorite Quran recitor? I'd say Qari `Abdul-Basit `Abdus-Samad and then Sheikh `Abdur-Rahman As-Sudais. Qari `Abdus-Samad is classic , Masha'Allah an amazing voice, style and concentration, deffinitley the best . Whenever you listen to Sheikh As-Sudais, it always feels like he's telling you a story.

Listening to Shaykh Sudais' recitation just makes my heart melt. isnt it great, how they can pray for so long without getting tired or very out of breath? SubhanAllah!

Oh subhanAllah I looooooooove this brother. Especially around that 20 minute mark where he starts to choke up and cries :(
Such a powerful du'a mashaAllah....
I listen to it every week almost and one day I got a wee bit carried away and put it on very loudly and my boss [this bro] storms into my office and goes "WILL YOU TURN THAT DOWN!"

never heard of any. know why?

I like Hudhaifys, Qari Abdul Basit, alEfasy and more. I like them because of how beautiful the recitation is. And it makes me want to learn the qur'an myself. It also helps me memorise parts of the Qur'an.

:sub: so true.. mash'allah i've managed to memorise the last 22 or so ayahs in the Qur'an, just by listening to recitations whilst travelling.

Something similar happened to me a while back...
My brother (I'm two years younger than him) was supposed to learn Ayat Ul-Kursi for school.. so to help him remember it.. he played a tape that kept repeating it continuously (I used to sleep in the same room as him at the time).. the next morning he woke up.. and he still had trouble remembering it. On the way to school though I started saying the ayah and I didn't know what it was.. but then my mum asked me what I said.. and I repeated it.. then she said that was the ayah the my brother was supposed to be learning.. Turns out.. I learnt it before him.
I like both El-efasi and Sa'ad Al-Ghamidi
