MUSLIM FOSTER CARERS NEEDED FOR BOYS FROM VARIOUS PARTS OF THE WORLD
Muslim foster carers needed, especially for Muslim boys aged 11-16
from Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, and other parts of the world. We
particularly need more carers in the Croydon area and surrounding
local authorities, i.e. Merton, Lewisham, Bromley, Sutton, Southwark
and Lambeth. We pay £314 per week in allowances per child aged 12-18.
The maximum a carer can care for is 3, but usually the number is
1 or 2. A spare room for the foster child is essential, as is a
caring and flexible attitude. For more information on how to apply,

PUSHTU OR DARI SPEAKING FOSTER CARERS REQUIRED
The Islamic Fostering Service is looking for Muslim families who can
speak either Pushtu or Dari to contact them. Time and again they have
had to refuse referrals from local authoroties because they do not
have families who can speak these two languages. This is how Muslim
children end up in non-Muslim families. Please help our brothers and
sisters. E-mail admin@fostercarelink.com (http://us.f560.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=admin%40fostercarelink.com) if you are able and willing
to be a foster carer.

I was thinking about this last night and decided that I really did have an opinion on this subject.
I think it's odd to require that potential families speak Pushtu or Dari when the great majority of UK Muslims speak Urdu or Arabic.
So, is the Islamic Fostering Service saying, "We'd rather send these children to non-Muslim families than send them to Muslim families that speak Urdu or Arabic"?
It would seem that Pushtu- or Dari-speaking families would be fairly recent immigrants not likely to have the time or resources to devote to a foster child.

Cashew I think that is specific for the children who are from Afghanistan, maybe they are weak in English. It would be important for the foster parents to speak the child's mother tongue, if they can't communicate they would feel cut off?

If there aren't enough Dari- or Pashtu-speaking families, then Urdu- or Arabic-speaking families should be urged to take these children. At the very least there would some Muslim cultural similarities that the kids would recognize.
Of course the laws regarding foster-parenting in the U.K. may require that mother-tongue be the first and most important consideration when placing a child. I don't know.
I do know that in some states in the U.S. foster-parenting programs are a huge mess with kids being "lost" or disappearing for years before a social worker notices that they've gone missing.
If anyone can manage to do this then I would highly recomend it. My wife and I have fostered several children and it has been a very rewarding experience and one that I would recomend to anyone that has room in their heart for another. Remember that Mohammed(saw) was an orphan too.

Remember that Mohammed(saw) was an orphan too. Shaykh I pray that on the Day of Judgement that your gentle nature, warmth, tenderness, compassion and love that you show towards our little brothers and sisters in deen makes that little bit of difference for you, your Wife, and your family to be pardoned and rewarded into Jannah'tul Firdous insha'allah- Ameen.
Subhan'allah- you are an excellent example in feeding and sheltering the little ones.
may Allah reward u and ur wife for that Teoma. Ameen thuma Ameen.
We did it because we are both products of the foster system and thought that we could help someone like we were helped. My wife has been too sick though the last few years to be able to take on the responsibility of more kids.

ADOPT A MOROCCAN CHILD AS KAFALAH
Moroccan orphanages are full of children aged 2 years and above. They desperately need families to adopt them. We urge you to come forward
and help them.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was an orphan
and said: "Whoever cares for an orphaned child will be in Paradise with him as close as two fingers of a single hand."
