I needed the comp mainly for office work, internet surfing and thirdly some gaming at times , although i find it hard to get da time for the later two.

My main factors for the customized PC were in order of priority

1.Price
2.Stablility ( iam installing linux ubutu and other software to help in this)
3. Good monitor.
4 Lots of HD and RAM - for gaming.

As iam an accountant and not a IT expert... here is how it went.. you can see if its worth it.. :)

AMD Athlon64 3200 Venice OEM 2.0GHz Socket 939 512K Cache , Item Price = £50.5, Quantity = 1 ( very cheap )

17" Hyundai ImageQuest 8ms TFT 700:1, DVI & DSUB, Speakers Kensington Lock, VESA 75x75mm Pivot Portrait / Landscape &, Item Price = £119, Quantity = 1 ( beautiful )

MSI K8N Neo4-F Socket 939 NF4 / DUAL CH DDR / PCI-E / Gb LAN / 7.1CH AUDIO / SATA RAID / 10x USB2.0 / ATX MOTHERBOARD, Item Price = £40.55, Quantity = 1 - a bargain

Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu 462 / 478 / 775 / 939 , Item Price = £18.5, Quantity = 1 ( Big fan , surrounded by a netting of pure COPPER! )

NEC ND-3550A 16x DVDRW DL Black , Item Price = £18, Quantity = 1
( ok for my needs )

200GB Maxtor DMax+10 SATA2 7200 8MB 300Gb/s NCQ Replaces 6L200M0 and 6B200S0 , Item Price = £41.5, Quantity = 1 ( Its Sata2 , i neednt say more )

Warrior Gamers Case - Black (Y1A) , Item Price = £27.25, Quantity = 1 ( it looks like a black panther )

512MB PC3200 Elixir DDR SDRAM Part #: m2u51264ds8hb5g-5t P/N: M2U51264DS88B1G-5T both mem are same, Item Price = £20.5, Quantity = 2 ( 2024 would be better , but when i get a better processor later )

MSI ATI Radeon X800 XT 256mb PCI-E Graphics Card - £77 ( this is one HELLL OF A BARGAIN!! , Google itfor UK prices )

( bargain from ebay!! http://www.desiflavour.com/home/images/smilies/set1/001_smile.gif ) a very good graphics card.

Ive spent £510 ( inc VAT ) - i can claim the VAT on a business account easily. The good monitor and good graphics card were the only heft expenses... BUt the graphics card is a massive bargain!!!! Also I couldnt be bothered to go with a 60 quid dell monitor with no DVI. Oh and i know the processor is a little slow, but the motherboard is good for upbrading for the next 2-3 years. so i can get a nice Dual core or whateva later!!

Only problem i may possibly encounter are underpoweredness on the PSU unit, in which case i'll have to dish out another 30 odd quid to get the right one. ....

Whats the question?

I got a question for u. If U look at the LCD thread in Digital forum, I've set my eyes on buyin' the Hyundai 32" LCD HD ready TV.

Since you got a Hyundai monitor, how gud is the image quality? Where did u get urs from and does it come with a 2 year collect n return warranty?

Salamz

I was just wondering what the brothers here thought... any improvements i can make on a low price range... ???

Also i got most of the componenets from www.aria.co.uk (http://www.aria.co.uk).

In my opinion the image quality is FINE on the monitor i have, iam very happy with it. Its also DVI !!! So you gotta get the Digital cable. But for the purpose of watching TV - i really dont know.. thats a whole different thing. Samsung Monitor / TVz are better for that now ? :)

As for the warranty.. thing , i dontknow , i didnt bother checking. :)
