well...i river? creative zen? or ipod...personally? last yr i would have got a creative zen or iriver...but this yr it has to b the slimlime sleek blak ipod 60g which u can have multimedia advantages. :up:

Err I think that the sony nwa-1000 is really really nice :D Comes in so many nice colours..and has two different memories..6GB and 20GB too I think..

yes i used to have it i sold it recently.

the thing is when ur transfering the video from ur PC onto the ipod it takes too long. even videos which are pretty short take a quiet a long time. its quite annoying. but the quality of the video is good on the ipod.

and also it is quite big. its quite uncomfotable in ur pocket. not my kinda thing. depends my mate likes his so....

ha! lol get an ipod nano clone like me for 30 quiid off of ebay and it works the same.. tho it aint got no click wheel and the same firmware... so the screens are different.. tho the plus is u aint gotta use no iTunes!

It depends on what you want and how much you're willin' to spend...

Do you wanna be able to watch videos or listen to music / radio, store files etc...

It also depends on how much u wanna listen to... u can get 40GB or 1 GB MP3 player...

depends u looking for one with loads of memory or a small one?

i've found that the best thing in a mp3 player is battery life!
1gb of memory is plenty, what's the point of having a million tracks and only being able to listen for ten hours and then needing to recharge the thing again!

currently i have the sony e405 (i think). it has ~50 hrs battery life! and 1gb memory. have plenty of qur'an and audio lectures on it to last me a month before needing to change anything.

am looking to get a mobiBLU DAH-1900- has 150+hrs battery life :-)

You first have to decide what your needs are. Then you can narrow your options.

How much video & audio files to do expect to put on your Mp3 player?
Do you require a video player as well?(Creative Zen is a better video player than Ipod video)
Do you want FM radio?(Ipod doesnt have FM built in, Most other brands do)
Do you want a built in microphone?(Ipod doesnt have this)
Do you want ease of use?(Ipod's Itunes is probably the best service & the easist)
Do you want a LCD screen or do you not care about a viewable screen?
What is your price range?

After you answer these questions, then you search will be alot easier.

I got tired of having a separate device to play my quranic mp3s, a separate device as a usb storage pen, and a separate device as a pda. So I got the sony erricsson w810i and love it! It does almost everything I was able to do with 3 separate devices, and with an additional £20 you can get a 2Gb memory card!

True, but if you know how to optimise mp3 files you can get the whole quran (about 24 hours of audio) in 600Mb. If you use the same type of compression you should be able to get around 80 hours of audio in 2Gb!!! That is over 3 days 3 nights of continuous listening! And that is good quality too! Obviously if you reduce the quality further, you will be able to get even more into 2Gb!

On top of that you can get many 2Gb cards :). But that would be a little bit of a hastle if you need to keep swapping the cards around.

Yeh i got my Sony erricson memo card from www.mymemory.co.uk .

Actually you can store the Quran on your mobile phone in MP3 in even less memory. So the rest of the space u can store lectures or 3gp or mp4 videos ( which run really well on the SE phones )
