Hope you all are well InshaAllah

Over the past few days i've had to pick a final year project from about 50 projects and i found i think the project i would like to pursue which is:

Engineering a ‘world class’ web info system for CS group

You are invited to employ your creativity, software engineering and HCI best practises and your web development skills to re-engineer the current CS web information system. You are expected to participate in some world class web information systems, draft an architecture/design to realise the said requirements, implement a prototype, deploy and test.

I like HCI and web designing is okay too, but i want to make sure i've picked a good project before i hand my form in, i Emailed the lecturer about a meeting to talk about this project in depth but he hasn't responded, so i though of asking you guys InshaAllah.

What is your first perception of this project, to me it doesn't require that much coding except XML and HTML but i have had suggestions it may require Javascript and so on which makes me wonder maybe this project isn't as straighforward as i thought.

Waht are your views? What fields and langauges would i have to be good in this project to get a good mark? :jkk:

Salams,

If you;re talking about "World Class" website...i would thnk you need good Database programming skills.... Any really good website would require a strong flexible back--end.. maybe good skills in PHP and SQL?
XML would deffinately be a good one. You may need to work on graphics too so prolly need photoshop skills!
the HCI side of it all i stheory and im sure you can research and follow certain methods!
im not of a website background.. but these things certainly come to mind! let us know how you get on!
