[3:3] He sent down to you this scripture, truthfully, confirming all previous scriptures, and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel.

[3:4] before that, to guide the people, and He sent down the statute book. Those who disbelieve in GOD's revelations incur severe retribution. GOD is Almighty, Avenger.

we will devote this thread and several others to come for the study of the Quran Al-majeed for everyone so we can learn and benefit from it all. what is required here to start a discussion regarding the meaning of the verses, when was it revealed and the purpose that follows it. i am sure tat this will start many different questions and inshallah we will answer most of what we can inshallah. نزل عليك يا محمد الكتاب القرآن ملتبسا بالحق بالصدق في أخباره مصدقا لما بين يديه قبله من الكتب وأنزل التوراة والإنجيل

he has sent the book on you (Muhammad p.b.u.h) truthfully, confirming to what has been revealed before (as speaking of the previous books, and the stories of Moses and Jesus and other prophets) and has revealed the Torah and the Gospel

Salam brother! I am sorry for not have replied till today.. i have thought about the subjects we could take, and thought it would be good to start to teach about the differences and limitations... for example, to the differences, when Allah speaks like : only those and those understand, or fear Allah, and so on. It means : to take out each one of those different names and search for the right definition, and so also - the meaning of the whole ajah too.

As example, i will take this ajah : Surah Fatir, 28. :


28. And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle are they of various colors. Those truly fear Allah among His Servants who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might Oft-Forgiving.

In this one would be it "...who have knowlegde" ...
