Does Allah ever forgive someone for this grave sin, if some one drank a couple times when they were not practising, but knew it was wrong but at the time didnt even know if they wanted to be a muslim altogehther. What should someone in this situation do?

HELP

Backbiting

There is a hadith in which the Prophet SAW gets a bowel and ask two women to vomit in it to prevent them from the punishment in hell. Should one induce themselves to vomit if they have back bitten.

assalamuh 'alaykum

Allah (swt) forgives what you have done inshallah as long as you repent and say istighfar, "astaghfiru allah al 'atheem". just vow truly never to repeat your sin and inshallah allah ghafur raheem.

the incident about backbiting where the Prophet SAW told two women to vomit was to show that backbiting is as horrible as devouring a brother's (or sister's) flesh.

Al-Hujurat or The Apartments, ayah (verse) 12, the part of it you want is "...ayuhibbu ahadukum an ya'kula lahma akheehi maytan fakarihtumuh, wattaku Allah, inna Allah Tawwabun Arrahim"
the translation is " Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead Brother? Nay, ye would abhor it...But fear God:For God is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful."
(Translation by A. Youssef Ali)

so when he told the two women to vomit, what came out was human flesh. i don't think you should induce yourself to vomit since then it was just as a 'ibra, just to show others how horrible al ghiba is. and inshallah Allah (swt) will forgive that as well, also if you repent and (i'll make sure for you) you might want to apologize to this person. hope i helped.:)

Re:Alcohol consumption
But can Allah forgive you if its a major sin for i was told that Alcohol is a Major sin and is worse than minor zina. How do i make sincere taubah?
what is the punishment for drinking Alcohol under shariah?

Re: backbiting:

What if the person i tell is offended? what if it will cause more problems if you tell the person. what shall i do? can i fast for 2 months as a punishment or will i still have to burn in hell for a certain period of time?
