mashaAllaah...it was a very good event...

short summary

1)AR green did a short talk about brotherhood...and how it is our DUTY to do something for the brothers (and sis's) in captivity around the world...."none of you truly believe unless you wish for your brother what you wish for yourself"....and none of us wish gitmo or other such places for ourselves..yet we hardly take a split second to think of the brothers who are there....he made a point of saying the only way we can feel and take action for the brothers is by invisioning ourselves there

2)capeprisoners presentation...subhanallaah..seen it before..but it still brought a tear to my eyes :(

3)ashfaq ahmad (babar ahmad's father) did a short talk about babar ahmad...about the upcoming appeal (over the next few weeks...keep your eyes on freebabarahmad.com for details)

4)yvonne ridley did an amazing (as always...mashaAllaah :up: ) talk about how its our duty to do something..and not sit at home scared...she did her excellent story about comparing her treatment by the taliban to the treatment of a brother who was sent to gitmo (they were both caught at similar times)

5)there were some other talks but i didnt get a chance to sit through all of them

unfortunately not the best turn out..esp on the brothers side (:nono:esp considering that the organisers really wanted to get in contact with brothers in the local area who knew binyam mohammad... )

but an excellent event nonetheless!
