I edited the poll to removed the "masha allah im a good muslim" phrase, as I felt this is slightly bragging, and people may not be comfy with it.
Hope thats fine with you ia muslim forever, it doesnt change the content of the poll itself

Asalaamu Alaikum sister,
Alhamdulillah, reading the translation of the Qur'an greatly helps to understand the meaning of the Holy Book. Personally, Arabic is not my first language so when I used to recite the Qur'an, I had no idea what I was reading. Then my uncle gave me a Qur'an along with the English translation and reading the meanings has given me a much better insight into our deen.
If we also read the tafsir (exegesis) of the Qur'an, then we will understand it even better, Insha'Allah.
Of course, we must understand that by reading the translation and/or tafsir, we are in no way qualified to give our own personal interpretations nor do we become scholars in the area.
However, seeking Islamic knowledge is a duty upon us and the more we learn, Insha'Allah, the more we can implement Islam wholly into our lives and truly live like Muslims.
So sister, I greatly encourage you to begin reading the translation. :) Insha'Allah, it will only help you in your journey to become a better Muslimah. :)
