Alhamdulilah really enjoyed the speakers. Love the talk from brother martin lol he's full of jokess!

Barbar ahmed dad talked for a bit as well - brings tears to your eyes his speech. May Allah s.w.a ease his pain and all the brothers & sisters who are captured and being tortured this very minute.

Also the speakers made a point that Allah s.w.a test those whom he loves....makes you think are we being tested???

Seriously events like these open your eyes and makes you aware of what is actually happaning. We get bombarded with propoganda through the media & subhana' Allah this talk just shows the truth! A few non muslims were there - that just puts shame on the muslims coz at least they were willing to come and sit down and listen to the talks.

Subhana' Allah i went home around 7ish so i missed the last bits of the speakers....anyone wana tell me what happaned at the end insha' Allah?

MashAllah 'twas excellent. Not only because of the line-up of speakers but also becauue a lot of issues were raised and solutions actually discussed. A lot of talks tend to talk on and on about the problem etc but they never seem to want to provide solutions but this event was good in that sense Alhamdulillah. And i think more importantly (well i'm hoping so :p ) inshAllah it made people aware of what they can actually do and motivated them. InshAllah Ameen.

Ninjaress: After 7...hmmm not sure what you missed but towards the end the Dr who treated Babar Ahmed (Dr Adnan something :p ) spoke and mashAllah he is an inspiration (as are the others if in diffferent ways :) ). Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alameen. One thing he said which really touched me is how whenever he goes to see Babar Ahmad he (Babar Ahmad) always has a smile on his face and is always more concerned about the welfare of the people in his community always asking about them etc. SubhanAllah.

The last speaker was Shaykh Riyadh-ul Haq. He is a favourite of mine.:D He was spot on again as usual mashAllah :hidban: He spoke a lot about brotherhood and how we muslims seem to think that if we as individuals don't harm a fellow muslim personally then that is sufficient and so we feel justified in turning a blind eye to what's happening to our brothers and sisters. When in fact not only are we not allowed to harm a fellow muslims but we are not allowed to abandon him either! (which we are doing :( ) He then talked about the hadith

Narrated Anas: Allah's Apostle said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah's Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."

in great detail. How Nabi sallallahu Alyhi wasallam mentions oppressor first because when you help the oppressor by staying his hand ultimately with that one action you help all the oppressed under his oppression. Thus effectively fulfilling both requirement. SubhanAllah He covered much more. MashAllah was very enlightening especially as for an uneducated person like myself such depth and wisdom is bypassed in reading the hadith. I can only skim the surface. He also ended with a hadith about the wolf and sheep which was deeeep but if i go to explain as he did i'm going to end up with a dissertation instead of the essay which i've already written lol

I think at the end the one factor that seemed to hit people the most was when the host dude (lol cant rember his name) highlighted how the whole event was organised by a 17yo college sister. I've met this girl a few times in the mosque and we chat (as girls do :p) and subhanAllah this girl has been through so much trial in her life and still does yet by Allah Tala's infinite grace and mercy has found the time and energy to do this mashAllah. Reminds me of the ayah

“By the declining day. Lo! man is in a state of loss. Save those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to endurance.”
(Surat Al-`Asr: 103)

She puts me to imaginable shame. May Allah Almighty accept her actions and reward her with the highest level of Jannah. Ameen.

Now i have to put forward my one complaint on behalf of my younger sis. She says " How come the brothers got pizza and we got cold cheese sandwhiches!!!! Sexism in islam is unacceptable!":torture: <--- that is how she felt but i bought her some on the way home so she's decided to let it pass *phew* She can be a worse terror than me when she's not happy :D

Also JazakAllah khair to the bro(incase he's on Ummah :p) who went into the guys area to get me a book cuz i didn't want to go in. I saw from the balcony how the brothers bombarded the selling area! No jzk to you sis Maria for organising it all by yourself. May Allah swt ease your troubles and grant you a high station in Al Firdous. Remember that if you are true to Allah He will be true to you. Thank Allah that he chose you out of everyone to have the capacity and means to be able to do something so big for his sake. Some people have the money, means, everything that it takes but Allah has not chosen them for something so worthy.:inlove:

Salaam Lu'Lu sis, just under 500 were present on the day. Inshallah through them tickets all costs should be covered. I'm going in tomorrow to find out how much money was made, so ill then be able to calculate for definite about paying off all debts.

Hopefully, by the sounds of things, most definitely, it should cover everything, ill let you know ;)

I thought since they've set up in between they might as well prove useful :p

Dayyyymn we did get pizza then. Lol i'll have to tell my sis so she can finally put her mind to rest that we were treated equally after all :D I personally prefer cheese sandwhiches anyway :p

A week on: i mst say, the event ws xcellent..
the fact that a 17 yr old muslim Female aka Maria!!! can organise such a thing, it should put all us men to shame.. we need mor active bros, so tht females can be sitting bak and relaxing. all day sunday i saw Maria running around, i just sat and tho8 to myself - that should be a bro doing all the hard work. our women are queens, treat them like queens, give them as much peace as we can and let them watch the show. not the other way round. i dont even remember seeing her sitting down anywhere?!

well.. it has been recorded - however some parts are missing - it was a last minute thing.. and ive been told the recording image wise isnt very clear.. but should be getting the produced copy soon so pray its good inshalah so can be available for dawah and for all to see
