i have just installed mandrake 8.2 on to my pc and now it wants a user name and password which i dnt have, seen as i have a copied version!

Nice to hear you received it - :)

Its been quite a while since I installed it on my system so all I can suggest is that you check one of the many howto's that are available.

If you get really stuck let me know - or perhaps one of the other bros/sis's can help?

Try ( root ) for username and leave password blank or use ( password ) for password . Since this is your own system we can hack this with no legal recourse if necessary . ;)
