Most of you will know that ummah.com is heavily monitored not only by the authorities but also by the media. It is your own best interests to take what you post on this forum seriously because it WILL be taken out of context, exagerated and blown out of all proportion by those who have an agenda against Muslims and have newpapers to sell, tv screens to fill and anti-terror legislation to push through

USE YOUR HEAD before your mouth. We spend half our time on this place talking about current affairs so we should all have enough sense to know that Muslims are demonised and targetted by the media and authorities at every half baked opportunity. Don't create those for them.

We know that our regular users are law-abiding, good people who simply use ummah.com for discussion and to air their opinions. We have users from all backgrounds, religions and age groups and very diverse content too, ranging from lighthearted to more serious issues.

However certain ring-wing racist and also ultra-modernist anti-mainstream-Islam media whores are already fabricating stories and alleging things about ummah.com and our users. We are the biggest UK islamic forum and popular with all sections of the online community, so we will inevitably be the targets of such smear campaigns, and it is a testament to our huge presense on the internet and the value of ummah.com as a forum.

Please ensure you do not let your tempers get the better of you and say anything inappropriate - even jokingly - and give them the material they are so desperately scouring our site for. We are not asking you to censor your views, we are asking you to express yourself in a sensible manner and ensure it can't be misinterpreted as a threat or something illegal.

Different people have different opinions of ummah.com. One group will say we attract "kuffar loving modernists" and another will say we attract "radical islamists" and that is because different groups have different agenda's and reasons to put ummah.com down.

Whereas in reality, ummah.com IS truly all-inclusive and diverse whilst at the same time maintaining and promoting a stance that is traditionally islamic according to consensus but not sectarian or divisive.

We provide a forum for people to ask questions, voice opinions, discuss issues, learn about Islam and meet other people. We allow all users to post their own thoughts and have their say, as long as it is not against the forum rules and applicable law.

The administration of ummah.com cannot monitor every single post, but have set up sufficient means for other users to report posts and alert us to them and we do edit, delete, ban or advise in response to those reports.
