Salaam,

I have a question to you all out there - especially those whom have contact with non-Islamic families.

As a revert I am wondering whether it is wrong to consider naming any future offspring - Insha'Allah - with an Islamic name that is also used within British culture - eg Sami - so that the child will easily fit/be accepted Islamically and culturally - I am a revert sister!!!

Is there any sin for thinking in these terms?

Jazakuh'Allah

I have a similar problem myself, I want to call my son Noah but I been told it should be Nuh or Nooh.

The inlaws think it should be Nooh the brothers at the Mosque say Nuh, I like the name Noah. Its the same person the name is not against Islam so why do people have a problem with it ?
