Many have lost this spirit; to the effect that the religion has became a historical heritage and legacy. They deal with the religion like they deal with material possessions. The programs on television have become like a daily meal to people. These programs do not present the true picture of the religion; they present the religion but as a historical religious heritage and legacy with no living applications for the life.
When they present different aspects of life – its problems and their solutions; they present it from the western point of view and the point of view of people of falsehood and corruption.
Religion as far as the destructive media are concerned is simply history, which they present like they present the history of American Indians when they relate the story of their genocide.
This is the religion to them while the reality of the religion is a living spirit that encompasses all aspects of life and becomes a distinctive feature in life. As a result of this ignorance and not knowing the real meaning of Islam, contradictions overwhelms our lives as Muslims today.
We claim Alhamdullilah that we are Muslims, and we are a Muslim community, we go to the mosques and we fast in Ramadhan and some go to Makkah but the main aspects of our lives contradict that. Added to that, our legislation could be French, British, or Roman, as it is in some of the Muslim countries that refuse to practice the laws of Allah that were sent down to His messenger (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam). They rule by other legislative systems instead of the rule of Allah – the Shariah yet they claim that they are Muslims and that they are a Muslim community. However the Quran sets a very clear statement as Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala says which translates as: "But know by your Lord they can have no faith until they make you judge in all disputes between them and find in themselves no resistance against your decision and accept them with full submission"(Al-Nisaa’: 65).
Think about this O Muslims, this Qur’anic expression is clear, accept it with full submission. Therefore, faith is submission and Islam is submission to Allah, the Lord The One and only with no partner.
Do you want to deceive Allah O Muslims? By practicing the religion only in a theoretical way (paying only lip service to the religion) as a front while the realities of your lives contradict Islam. Allah described this religion as guidance and light.

A Bedouin came to the Prophet (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) while he was ridding on his she camel, so he grabbed the leash and said: "O Messenger of Allah, guide me to a deed that will bring me closer to paradise and keeps me away form hell fire". So the Prophet (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) liked what that Bedouin said and looked to his companions and said: "The man is favored by Allah, and has succeeded". He said it twice, then he said to the Bedouin: " Worship Allah alone with no partners, perform the congregational prayer, pay the Zakaah, fast in Ramadhan and give one fifth of the booty resulting from Jihad, and maintain good ties with kinship". Then he told him "Let go of my she camel, let go of my she camel ", this Hadith is reported in the book of Al Imam Al Bukhaarie.
This was their concern, May Allah be please with them all. What is the shortest way to paradise and what keeps them away from the hellfire? They asked about the shortest way to paradise and when they knew it, they took it; they took that path without hesitancy or delay.
As in the books of Al Bukhari and Muslim, a great Sahabi while standing in the battle field ready to perform Jihad, heard the messenger (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) say: "He who fights for the sake of Allah sincerely, then gets killed facing the enemy and not giving them his back will enter paradise". Therefore, that companion threw away the dates that were in his hand and said: " Indeed it is a long life to live if I have to wait until I eat all these dates". Then he immersed in the battle with the enemy fighting along with the other Muslims until he was killed as a martyr. May Allah have mercy on him and be pleased with him.
Then how do we Muslims describe our lives in this present time? One wishes it were only a few dates to consider. Unfortunately, the material life is glaringly effulgent. Together with our insatiable desires and the many problems that attack our hearts, we forget paradise until life become like a body with no soul; affecting us individually and collectively – a life that pays only lip service to Islam – simply a front – a show, with no real submission to Allah – no real faith.
Allah says which translates as: "I (Muhammad), have been commanded only to worship the Lord of the city (Makkah), Him who has sanctified it and His everything. And I am commanded to be from among the Muslims (those who submit to Allah in Islam). And to recite the Qur’an so whosoever receives guidance, receives it for the good of his own self and whosoever goes astray then say (to him) I am only one of the warners"(Al-Naml: 91-92).

This destructive media invades us through such people, these hypocrites. By Allah if Umar Ibn Al Khataab was amongst us, he would not have tolerated this situation. He would not have had peace of mind until he beheaded them, cut their hands and legs off from opposite sides, and crucified them. He would have expelled them from the land because they were corrupters.
This destructive media fights against Islam by attacking you, your communities and your sons and daughters. O Muslims, you are lying on your beds sleeping a sleep of heedlessness!
Take for example, the way they present women in the destructive media. They present them on evil destructive programs, uncovered, decorated with make up, mixing with men, sitting with men alone, talking about love (zina), and obsession, practicing immorality and obscenity on the television programs that we ‘drink from’ on a daily basis. Even if she is covered up but only wearing perfume, without beautifying herself, wearing make up, or showing her adornment and beauty in front of men, "…then goes out and passes by a group of men where they could smell her then it is as though she has committed adultery or fornication". He said the truth, the truthful (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam).
