an example for us all

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (ra) narrates "On the sixteenth of Ramadan we set out for a battle in the company of Allah's Messenger (saw). Some of our friends observed the fasts of Ramadan, while others decided not to fast. However, each group had no objection against the other. Those fasting did not accuse those abstaining nor did the latter challenge the former."

If your Lord had so willed, He would have made mankind one people, but they will not cease to differ, except those on whom Your Lord and Sustainer has bestowed His mercy, and for this did He create them (11: 118-9)

If anyone here is off to battlefield than by all means fast or not fast, but don't be dumb, deff and blind like some people in the Uk and others.

The hadith quoted above is not a daleel for not fasting or fasting on Eid day and it is also not a case of Ikhtilaaf but perhaps tolerance.
