Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah..

I was thinking.. about .. the phenomenon known as deja vu...

How many times have you done something or been in a situation where you get the feeling that you've been there or done that before.. and it unfolds in exactly the same way.. and you think hey wait a minute.. this is weird..

Anyways although it might sound like a futile discussion I just wondered.. is there an islamic explanation???

Is there an explanation full stop... ??

yes of course.....all humans have it many times in their lives

and there is a medical explaination i read long time ago.......

your brain function as it recieves blood

the blood reach the right and the left side of your brain in the same time

so say you watched a flower.....the blood reach your brain and the image of the flower is saved in your brain cells

but sometimes a slight malfuction happen.....the blood doesn't reach the two parts of your brain in the same time

it reach the left side 0.000000000001 millseconds (not exactly) before it reach the right side

so you see a flower.......

the blood reach the left side of your brain....it functions and save the flower image

the blood reach the right side of the brain....it functions and save the flower image....but oooops.....it is already saved.....where did i see this flower before???..........aka..Deja Vu

of course this is simplified explaination

aah interesting..

I had my own theory.. It begins with the fact that everything that is going to happen is written in a clear book known as the luh-e-mahfuz.. so everything has happened technically, we are playing out our roles that have already been written..

anyways the theory ends by... erm.. I havent thought of an ending..

Yes but...ermmmm......whats the time lapse between each saved image ???? If we are talking milliseconds then I'm confused....because you havent seen the image before ??? For example, while your having a converstaion with your freind, you've never had it before, and you get the deja vu feeling????

So personally, I've always had the yusra theory.....that its something much bigger, to do with our written qadr etc.....

Also, I've always believed it may have something to do with the fact that believers sometimes have true dreams...and we may have dreamt it, and not remembered...then when it actually happens, we think heyyyyyy

Thats a good point.. it could be related to true dreams.. that we just don't remember.. and then when the event comes to occur, these memories come to surface..

That has to be the most legit theory so far..

I heard from a sheikh one time that every person we meet in life we have met before we came onto earth and were given life,

the confusion created by this malfunction creates a gap which your subconscious tries to fill.........its a moment of conflict between your conscious and subconscious where subconscious use its storage of dreams and fantasies to fill this gap

this is what i read

If you have amnesia and experience deja-vue at the same time... does that mean you feel like you've forgotten this stuff before?

There never going to figure it out, there's many theories but still nothing close to the truth.

and the truth is?

Only allah knows because theories are just principles of explanations regarding a certain phenomena. I can come up with my own theory, that doesn't necessarily make it true now does it.

I always get them. I try not to dwell over it so much because the budhists believe that u were someone else before you became who you are now...I think there is a thin line between shirk and deja vu, especially if you start thinking that you are remembering something you've done in another life.
