View Full Version : alcohol consumption ? .
this is not a very important topic, but I kind of need to know this to make sure. theres this guy in my school who gave me some fanta to drink from a bottle. I had asked him if he had put anything bad or weird in it and he said no and to prove it he drank from it and then i took it but stopped when i only tasted a drop or two as i was taking it slowly and it didnt taste like fanta and i put it down and i had asked him what he mixed it with and he said he had mixed fanta with vodka. I know of a saying that if something is intoxicating in large amounts it is also forbidden in small amounts. Though I did not drink it directly and there were maybe one or two drops intake though not directly to my intestines how much haram was it in this situation and is there another saying that says something like if someone drinks his prayers wont be accepted for a while?

You wont feel it, I hate vodka and I believe noone should drink because it tends to make one voilent... I drank beer to feel more loving and to gain music abilitys but now that I have become muslim I haven't drank since...don't worry I'm sure your worrieing compansated for the drops you took, but I'm not an expert and don't know how bad it might violate Islam but you will not feel it even if you have never drank before, rather your mind might make believe it is effected but that is just the placebo effect and its all in your head, you're body will be fine:)

well brother, since you had no intention whatsoever when you drank little drops and you did it without knowing what it was, then, you will not be accountable for that. We are only accountable when we drink intentionally, even little drops.

i strongly agree with the above. however if there was any suspicion/doubt about the contents of the drink then you should have not drank it.

i agree totally, there are some ignorant people out there who think its a joke or think its funny that muslims dont drink alcohol, at my last work place, they used start winding me up a few months b4 xmas, saying there gonna put alcohol in my drink etc etc...eeeeddiots....nvr gave them the bloody chance!
be careful bro.
actually this guy knew i dont drink and he did try to get me to take some before and get me drunk, but in this case i thought that there might be something in there but didnt think it would be anything alcoholic because it was broad daylight and alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the school

As for the alcohol if you did not know, insha allah u won't have blame for it but still y dnt u make tawba anyway?
Doing something as a mistake isn't a sin that counts against you - Allah swt is the most mericiful. If you had in fact deliberately drank alcohol (even a drop) then I believe your prayers would be null and void for 40 days (correct me if I'm wrong - my Sunday School days are kind of hazy). Our actions are judged by intentions. InshaAllah Khair.
