God is clear in quran saying:
"Hajj is known months. Whoever enforces Hajj in them then there is no sexual intercourse no immorality and no argumentation in Hajj. Whatever good you do, God is fully aware of it. And get equipped , for the best equipment is the piety. Beware of me you who possess the foremost kernels"{2:197}

and all the Arabs knew these months were 12th , 1st , 2nd and 3rd during which God decreed the Hajj.The birth of the new moon of the month of Zul Al-Hijja signals the beginning of the four months of Hajj.

So why did clerics reduce it to the FIRST TEN DAYS OF THE 12TH MONTH?!!

They've justified their actions by these verses:

"....They shall mention God’s name during known days" {22:28}
"......You shall mention God for a number of days" {2:203}

but

They ignored the fact that Hajj itself can be completed in few days but held during the four specified months. The example of fasting the month of Ramadan, makes it clear as God describes this fasting also as a number of days although the ritual of fasting is for the whole month.

"o you who have believed fasting has been written on you like it was written on those who were before you , might u beware" {2:183}
numbered days if one is ill or traveling, ....." {2:184}

So why is this claim for hajj only

Why are 4 WHOLE MONTHS REDUCED TO TEN DAYS?

We all saw what this caused for the pilgrims from the suffer of stuffing and crowding that happens to the bodies….to the actual deaths that happens from them stepping on each other like what happened last time and many times before.

Please somebody answer me….Why?!

according to yusuf ali those months are shawwal, dhul qidah and dhul hejja. you are allowed to start travelling in the mth of shawwal already, depending on the distance and your method of travelling. however, the most important rituals are done in the first ten days of dhul hejja - especially at the 8th, 9th and 10th day.

yusuf ali says regarding the first part of sura al baqarah, verse 197 : the months well known: the month of shawwal, dhu al-qa'dah and dhu al hijja (up to the 10th or the 13th) are set apart for the rites of hajj. that is to say the first rites may begin as early as the beginning of shawwal, with a definite approach to makkah, but the chief rites are concentrated on the first ten days of dhu al hijjah, and especially on the 8th, 9th and 10th of that month, when the concourse of pilgrims reaches its height. the chief rites may be briefly enumerated:

(1) the wearing of the pilgrim garment (ihram) from certain points definitely fixed on all the roads to makkah: after this the prilgrimage prohibitions come into operation and the prilgrim is dedicated to worship and prayer and the denial of vanities.

(2) the going round of the ka'bah seven times (tawaf), typifying activity, with the kissing of the little black stone built into the wall, the symbol of concentration in the love of Allah;

(3) after a short prayer at the station of abraham (2:125), the prilgrim goes to the hills safa and marwah (2:158), the symbols of patience and perserverance;

(4) the great sermon (khutbah) on the 7th of dhu al hijjah, when the whole assembly listens to an exposition of the meaning of hajj;

(5) the visit on the eighth, of the whole body of pilgrims to the valley of mina (about six miles north of makkah), where the pilgrims halt and stay the night, proceeding on the ninth to the plain and hill of arafat, about five miles further north, which is also called mount of mercy;

(6) the tenth day, the 'id day, the day of sacrifice, when the sacrifice is offered in the valley of mina, and the symbolic ceremony of casting seven stones at the evil one is performed on the first occasion; it is continued on subsequent days; both rites are connected with the story of abraham: it is the 'id al adha; note that the ceremony is symbolically connected with the rejection of evil thought, word and deed. a stay of two or three days after this is prescribed; these days are called tashriq days.

muhammad asad says: lit. "in the well-known months". since the hajj culminates in one particular month (namely, dhu 'l hijjah), the plural apparantly refers to its annual recurrence. it should, however, be noted that some of the commentators understand it as referring to the last three month of the lunar year.

ahmad usmani says: from the new moon of shawwal til the dawn of azha or till the 10th night of zil hijjah are the month of hajj. the ehram of hajj is put on during these days. before the new moon of shawwal the wearing of ehram is unlawful or detestable. consequently, the months or days of hajj are fixed and well-known. the alteration and change which the idolaters made in these months out of their self-will or necessity and which is referred to in the verse (sura taubah, verse 37) is wrong and has no reality.
