Any one have any good ideas on what to give the woman at whose feet lie Al-Jannah and the next "best-companionship-deserving" person after her?
p.s: its not for the bid'ah anniversary/birthday. Just want to surprise them. Something islamic (an islamic book, perhaps) wud be prefarable.

I'd suggest a massage chair, cause elderly people usually complaint of having backache and all. I just bought one for my parents:D and they are happy about it:D

:jkk: but let me clarify things a bit.
My parents are not that "elderly" as to need a massage chair, neither am I capable of buying one for them.
Thanks again... and keep the ideas coming, please!

ohh.. i'm not rich actually bro, it just that I promised myself to give them something once I got a permanent job. actually i pay it by installment. What about special clothes/dress for your mommy and a thoub for your daddy, for them to wear to pray?
I always tell my kids that handtools are always appreciated
if the present is suppose to mean something why would you ask people who dont know your parents? Buy them something which means something to them. What they find meaning in only you will know.

Get some good stationery and write them each a letter explaining how grateful you are for having them in your life loving and guiding you.
if you are married then what about a grandchild. i know that will guarantee to make any grandparents happy.
how about an outing to a resturant and treat them?

If you don't mind ordering something online - http://siratt.com has a great and interesting variety of things that are Islamic and able to be used in everyday life! I've used it on some occassions (Eid being a favorite) and the people who received the gifts were very pleased (or very well mannered and great actors haha).

Assalamu Alaykum,
I cannot believe someone suggest giving a grandchild lol :)
I actually gave a gift to my dad today, it was a book:
Father:An Islamic Perspective: Giftbook (Siratt Arts)
It was £5
I found it in Green Street (Upton Park - London)
It doesn't cost a lot, it looks small, not as fancy as a massage chair, but when you open it and read someone of the pages it will feel like its worth so much, because the messages really are so sweet, they have messages of the relationship with your father usuing Ayah, hadith and Islamic poetry.
Heres something that will melt your daddy's heart: :)
Protecting me from all the dangers that be
That was your fatherly duty,
But the time you invested in advising me
Is more than anyone afforded me.
Your strength was not in brawn but in diplomacy,
I always felt safe in your company.
You were the glue that kept everyone together,
Insha’Allah in Paradise we’ll live happily forever.
