May Allah swt forgive me if I have written anything wrong.

Assalamoaliakum brothers and sisters,

Forgiveness

Foregiveness is a very important practice, and is equally hard to
apply and to accept. The most simplistic of definitions come from
the Webster's Dictonary:
-Forgive: To stop feeling angry or hurt by.
-Foregiveness: The act of foregiving, of the state
being forgivin.

We are human, our human emotions can help us accomplish good
things and assist us in doing great harm. There are many levels and
degrees of foregiveness. The degree on which you may relate greatly
depends on the wrong being done to you or of the wrong you are doing
to someone else.

The Messenger(saws) said," Whoever has oppressed another person
concerning his reputation or anything else, he should beg him to
foregive him beforethe day of Ressurection when there will be no
money (to compensate for wrong deeds), but if he has good deeds,
those good deeds will be taken from him according to his oppression
which he has done, and if he has no good deeds, the sins of the
oppressed person will be loaded on him."[3:629-OB].

A young wife finds out her husband had been unfaithful to her.
He has told lies about her and the household. The wife being a good
muslimah tells him," For your deen, I foregive you, as for backbiting
me and our home, I forgive you. And for you infidelity, I foregive
you, but I will not forget." It is easy to say, I forgive you" but
the heart takes time to heal.

A young child is slain out of hate, a great loss to ant paerent.
The father walks up to the killer and says," Killer of my only child,
my so, I dont know what is in your heart when you did this haines
crime to our family but we as muslims must foregive you, to begin our
healing, But take heed your punishment will be set accordingly by
Allah on the Day of Judgement."

These are extreme levels of foregiveness. There are also very
small ones, but equally as important.

"To foregive and overlook, til Allah brings His Command" [Al-
Baqarah 4:48]

"Show foregiveness, enjoy what is good, and turn away from the
foolish(i,e, dont punish them).[Al-Araf 7:199]

"And varily, whosoever shows patience and foregiveness, that
would truely be from the things recommended by Allah."[Ash-Shura
42:40-(43)].

Our Prophet(saws) showed much patience, when a woman come to
the Prophet(saws) and admitted she was an adultress and wished for
her punishment here instead of the hereafter. Our Prophet(saws)
replied that this punishment could not be carried out until she was
sure she was not pregnant. The woman left and come back a few months
later and told Our Prophet(saws) that she was indeed pregnant and
ready for her punishment. Our Prophet(saws) again replied such a
punishment could not be given while she was pregnant because the
child was an innocent. The woman left and come back 9 months later
with the baby in her hands once again asking Our Prophet for her
punishment. Our Prophet(saws) asked the woman if the baby could feed
itself? the woman replied no to his question. Our prophet(saws) and
replied that such a punishment could not be given to her since the
child depended on her to survive. The woman left and returned a few
years later with the child to show Our Prophet that the child was
able to feed himself. Our Prophet(saws) finally granted the womans
wishes to take her punishment for her sin. All these years of trying
to pay for her sin she failed to realize all she had to do was to ask
Allah swt for FORGIVENESS.

Forgive your aggressors and the ones who have oppressed you. Dont
carry around the burden of others cruelty and ignorance- Forgive them
and let them carry their own burdens....Allah swt is The Final Judge.
