Well the choice should be easy then. As we are not allowed to go to uni and mix freely with the opposite sex, Back in the day people felt comfortable with mixing with the opposite sex which was bad enough. These days there are some brothers and sisters who go to university and sexually please each other! Soon this will be accepted as the norm and the brothers and sisters who refrain from going to university because they know what can happen will probably be looked down apon!

Considering I have my fair share of health problems, It seems tempting to marry a doctor, he can take care of me all the time, seeing just incase a new disease comes up:p

But recently, Ive been thinking about marrying an architect and think I may stick with this decision as he can design plenty of homes for me, and our future children :D

again it's not a decision u can make before hand it all comes from the inside, u can marry an alim that's an animal at home, and you can marry a doctor thats the same. You don't look at what they but who they truly are. But deen definately has most to do with it

actually bro raya some Alims r loaded also..i kno a family in leicester..their father is real pious mashaAllah..and all his sons r Alims but at same time each one is a millionaire..they r running their own successfull businesses..on the other hand aye u do get Alims who devoted their life to study of deen so when they come out of madressah they dont have much going for em apart from teaching in ISlamic schools..and our lot r tyt gittsss when it comes to paying good money..so they end up living a very very simple life mashaAllah. I kno one doctor however who just completed his Alim studies..so hes a doc and an Alim mashaAllah :D :D

well exactly whose to say one cant be both - but this thread is talkin about preferance right doc/alim (if one was practising) ... a doctor would be of great help to the family i suppose, but i think an alim would be better, as wat he does would be in the path of Allah , that means being active in the deen etc (im not sayin a person who isnt an alim isnt active in deen) but mashallah u'd learn a lot, that , i fink would be lovely :inlove:.

well this thread is a pick between the two - and as iv said (i dunno how many times now) u can be an alim and a doctor , u can be an alim and have a job - being an alim dont necesserily mean u have to work in madrasah, for what...to just show ur knowledgable...yes we should share our knowledge,it can be with ur wife and children, mum and dad... u can happily be working in other places (other than low payin ones that wont look after a family) with better pay and have a happy wife.WAllahu Alam
