Quick reminder - Show gratitude to Allah (swt) for all that you have, lest He(swt) takes it away from you.

It is He Who has created for you (the faculties of) hearing, sight, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give!
(Holy Qur'an 23:78 - The Believers)
.
(Say Alhamdulillah in the heart, its not necessary to post).
(and b4 ne1 jumps to conclusions, i dnt want ne1 to think i'm givin out orders, its just a reminder). Jazaak-Allah. (just thought i'd make it clear)

Excellent post akhi:up: Too often we get caught up in our daily lives and are too quick to say, "This is mine, I earned it." when in truth it all belongs to Allah. We have it by his grace and he could take it away in an instant

O you who have attained to faith! Partake of the good things which We have provided for you as sustenance, and render thanks unto God, if it is [truly] Him that you worship.
(Holy Qur'an 2:172)

AND SO, partake of all the lawful, good things which God has provided for you as sustenance, and render thanks unto God for His blessings, if it is [truly] Him that you worship.
(Holy Qur'an 16:114)

INDEED, in [the luxuriant beauty of] their homeland, the people of Sheba had an evidence [of God’s grace] two [vast expanses of] gardens, to the right and to the left, [calling out to them, as it were:] “Eat of what your Sustainer has provided for you, and render thanks unto Him: a land most goodly, and a Sustainer much-forgiving!” (Holy Qur'an 34:15)

Have you ever considered the water which you drink?
Is it you who cause it to come down from the clouds - or are We the cause of its coming down? [It comes down sweet - but] were it Our will, We could make it burningly salty and bitter: why, then, do you not give thanks [unto Us]? (Holy Qur'an 56:68-70)

YUSUFALI: And thy Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations;

YUSUFALI: Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.

"When trouble toucheth a man, He crieth unto Us (in all postures)- lying down on his side, or sitting, or standing. But when We have solved his trouble, he passeth on his way as if he had never cried to Us for a trouble that touched him! thus do the deeds of transgressors seem fair in their eyes!" (Holy Qur'an: 10:12)

"Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds);" (Holy Qur'an: 100:6/7)

"It is He Who gave you life, will cause you to die, and will again give you life: Truly man is a most ungrateful creature!" (Holy Qur'an: 22:66)

Thank Allah SWT for your eyes, a luxury that most of us have and never show gratitude for. Think of all the people who cant see the sky, they dont know what colours are, they cant see their own parents and loved ones.
Oh Allah, we are so grateful for our sense of sight. Sometimes we abuse it and at other times it is extremely beneficial. Without sight, we would never see all these magnificent signs of Allah. Yet we have all this, we have so many resources at hand, and the blind still do shukr for all the other things they have. They learn to pray the Quraan, SubhanAllah. We should be ashamed of ourselves :(
Alhamdullillah, our eyes are the best windows in life :)

Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba:

The Prophet used to pray so much that his feet used to become edematous or swollen, and when he was asked as to why he prays so much, he would say, "Shall I not be a thankful slave (to Allah)?"

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 76, Number 478

Narrated Al-Mughira

The Prophet used to offer night prayers till his feet became swollen. Somebody said, to him," "Allah has forgiven you, your faults of the past and those to follow." On that, he said, "Shouldn't I be a thankful slave of Allah)?"

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 360

My fellow Muslim brothers n sisters in Islam... if this was the thinking n practice of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam)... then where does that leave you and me my brothers n sisters.

The leader of all Prophets, the beloved of Allah Ta'ala was sinless..... yet he (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) still prayed out of gratitude to Allah Ta'ala, whereas WE, the supposed followers of the best of creation (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam)..... we are stained with sins, our hearts hav become so black due to sinning that we cant recognise good from evil or falsehood from Haq (Truth).

Let alone praying 5 times a day, we cant even pray Jummah once a week. We feel ashamed to follow the blessed Sunnah of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)....... yet we strive to adapt to the kaafir way of living without even battin an eye-lid.

We are that much engrossed in sins, that we leave our halal spouse(s) to go and blacken our faces with a ghair-mahram, we see brothers n sisters that r hooked on drugs, alcohol, gambling..... we hear stories of children cursing and beating up their parents.... we follow nearly every kafir way of living to try n seek peace yet we are still depressed.

We seem to have forgotten that; Indeed !! PEACE is in the remembrance of Allah Ta'ala.

Inshallah one way in which to recognise Allah Ta'ala is to try and count His favours upon us lowly beings. Another is to look around and contemplate on His creation - Alhamdulillah what got me going was the Holy Qur'an, ponder over its meanings and what Allah Ta'ala is trying to His slaves.

May Allah Ta'ala guide us all and giv us correct understanding of deen. Ameen.
