Your words so soft, so silently
Climbing creeping, caressing me
You utter the words, so calm so deep
I’ll leave you now, my brother to sleep
Your eyes so tired, I wish you good rest
Your hands so soft, you carried out the test
Those lips so cold, as I heard those words
I’ll leave you now, fly free like the birds.
The bullets shoot, cut through the breeze
I watch you fall, with smiles and with ease
Tears drop- so very slow
You’re leaving me now? No please don’t go.
They’ve left you there, so helpless so lame
I watch your face, as I whisper your name
You don’t respond, nor do you reply
I knew my brother; it was your time to die
I’ll miss you though, but your Lord you shall meet
You were strong, you were courageous, and you passed not through defeat
With honour and with pride, I shall say your name
My brother, my brother, when I am brave, I’ll do the same..
