The muslim spends his or her time cultivating two gardens, The Garden of the dunya and the Garden of Aakhirah. It is a constant and continues process, so we can say the Mu'min is The Constant Gardner.
Time becomes a very vital and precious to the believer, and so to maximize his or her profits, a plan or strategy for efficiency is required. The goal of which is to spent each minute in either one of the two gardens, or if possible in both gardens at one time.
To gain our efficiency we must first figure out how much of our time we should spend in each Garden? which of the two gardens is our main focus in?
To get this answer we must have this equation:
Work for your dunya in accordance with the length of your stay therein.
Work for your akhira in accordance with the length of your stay therein.
so what is the ratio of the Dunya to Aakhirah,
100 years(dunya) to Infinate years(aakhirah),
100/oo = what?
0 = dunya
This equation gives us the answer that the Dunya is worth nothing, and we shouldn't spent any time in cultivating this garden. Yet, due to Allah's mercy, we have been given the right to not totaly forget about the Dunya, but two also reap the fruits of this Dunya as long as it doesn't divert our main focus, the Cultivation of the Invinate Garden(Aakhirah).
Now that we have figured out our priorities, it is time to build a action plan a formula for efficiency. Our focus is the garden of Akhirah, the garden of the dunya is the fuel that gives the Believer the energy to cultivate the first productively. Thus neglecting the latter will mean depriving the first's production capability. Reflect on the story of the gooze and the golden egg.
The Qur'an is the manuel which guides the indiviual to the most efficient path, the siraat al-mustaqeem. It is the ultimate book for the Gardener, teaching him or her how to efficiently cultivate both gardens. It provides the seeds, the tools, the rain, the sunlight, the soil and also it gives vital tips for successful cultivation.
The other source to gain this formula from is the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad :saw:, the Ultimate Gardener of all time. He is called this, because He life was the Qur'an. He is the example of efficiently when it comes to cultivating both Gardens.
The two sources support one anotherr, explain each other, and provide with those who embark on this journey of Sirat al-mustaqeem, a light that will never die off. For the constant gardener, these two are the most valuable possessions. When acted upon, they are the two guides to a successful cultivation.
In the end, You only reap what you sow
Keep this in mind always, in the end you are the sum total of your actions(intentions). It is what you only what you have sown that you will reap. Sow well, sow smart, so wisely, cultivate your ultimate Akhirah, invest in it more, prepare yourself for your stay there in. Be consciouse of your time, its value, spend it wisely on the correct garden. Each morning and each night take yourself to acount, what have you done for your Dunya? what have you done for your Akhirah?
Insha'Allah I pray that we are always conscious by being in a state of Dhikr, the conscious believer is the one who is mindful of Allah at all times, likewise the unconscious indivitual is one who is headless, in a state of Ghaflah. I pray that we are not amongst those who are, 'the Living amongst the dead'.
I pray that these words contribute first to my own awakening and remind me and you of our responsabilities to Allah and to our ownselfs, and to constantly be aware of our conditions and how we are spending our time(lifes). ameen
Allah(swt) says in the noble Qur'an(Surah Ibraahim);
014.024 Seest thou not how God sets forth a parable? - A goodly word like a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the heavens,- of its Lord. So God sets forth parables for men, in order that they may receive admonition.
014.025 It brings forth its fruit at all times, by the leave of its Lord. So God sets forth parables for men, in order that they may receive admonition.
014.026 And the parable of an evil Word is that of an evil tree: It is torn up by the root from the surface of the earth: it has no stability.
014.027 God will establish in strength those who believe, with the word that stands firm, in this world and in the Hereafter; but God will leave, to stray, those who do wrong: God doeth what He willeth. to recite click here (http://www.islamicity.com/MOSQUE/ARABICSCRIPT/AYAT/14/ra101_14-24.ram)
