walaikumusalam, the best thing to do is actually buy from a local store which incles warranty. computers tend to break down now and again. Make sure it is installed with firewall software and antivirus software and including filtering software which will filter fitnah on the internet.
But you will be able to find cheaper on the internet
hope that helps

Depending on where you live, but i am assuming your living in a stable western country...
Buying from the internet is the cheapest way, but keep in mind when you buy a pc from local store, you can return it whenever.

Build it yourself. just ensure that everything is compatable with each other.
you should do some more research if you are not sure about what you need.
dont pay for something you are not going to use
Using the internet and local computer shops, you can build an excellent system for under $450... See my specs. Now a good part of that was the case and power supply, which you'll never have to buy again. Also, the funky blue LEDs added to the expense as well. You can go much cheaper if you mod your own case. Oh and also, if you run 100% Linux, you won't have to purchase Windows.

Once you have built your first on your own, you'll never go back to buying premade.

Well getting all the right components would be a difficult task if ya have no clue what is inside that case.

The above specs for that PC , sounds alright.
The reason why its soo cheap is because new technology been coming out which makes yesterdays stuff very cheap quickly.

Asalamualaikum
Because I want a computer for multimedia stuff, like video making and what not
plus i'm scared i'll leave it on a bus:p
Wa'alaikumasalam
On the face of it that computer deal sounds ok, but its not.
It sounds very much like the dated equipment that companies in the Uk such as PC World sell. They also "sweeten the pot" with "free" digital cameras and "free" printers.
If you ever want to upgrade this system you will find it difficult and expensive.
The motherboard sounds like it uses on board graphics. this means that if you need to upgrade the graphics card (very likely if you are into film making) then you will need to upgrade the whole motherboard, very costly.
Look for a system that has an AGP slot on the motherboard, you can quickly and easily, and more importantly cheaply upgrade this system by simply plugging a faster graphics card in.
If you dont need digital cameras and printers then dont pay for them, believe me you will pay for them however much the advert says its free.

Building a PC shouldn't be too hard. There are good guides on stuff around on the internet if you search.
Just choose all your stuff, show them to some nerds (to make sure they're all compatible) buy them, find a good guide-thingie, set yourself 5 hours of free-time and build it.
The most hard bits are probably like screwing things in when another part is in the way  And the wires :nervous:
Plus, it'll be really satisfying once you get it woring ;)
I haven't actually built a proper PC myself :embar: But my (dumb) friend did, so if he can do it...

Assalamualikum,i have built 3 pcs before and repaired loads of them. Its very simple really.
below are the main components you require
A NEW ATX or MIDI TOWER (thecaseinwhich everything fits into) can be bought from any computer retailer
A motherboard (the circuit in which the cpu i.e the brain fits intoincluding the graphicscard, cd/dvd/rw and hardisk fitsinto
A Graphics card with over 64mb memory built into it (not on board)
A 80GB OR MORE HARDISK
OVER 512MB RAM (MEMORY CHIP)
PROCESSOR PREFERABALLY AMD 64BIT OR INTEL PENTIUM/CELERON
DVD ROM/RW
A MONITOR(SCREEN) WHATEVER YOU LIKE OR CAN AFFORD TFT/LCD/PROJECTION
KEYBOARD AND MOUSE-NOT WIRELESS(THEY DONTLAST EVENA MINUTE)
AN OPTICALMOUSE - NEVER REQUIRES CLEANING AND WORKS ON ALL SURFACES EXCEPT BLACK AS BLACK ABSORBS LIGHT.
PIONEER SELLTHE BEST DVD WRITERS FORVERY CHEAP
WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION IS FINE FOR YOU- MEDIA CENTRE IS A LOAD OF RUBBISH
THE INSTRUCTIONSON HOW TOBUILDAPC ARE AVAILABLE ON GOOGLE. ITS VERY EASY
.: Rashid :.
12-11-05, 12:46 PM
Thats cool, except that I think she'll need more than 64mb of graphics memory.
I find 40GB more than enough...80 is a bit extreme. Then again, maybe thats just me? :S
And Windows XP sucks.
Linux all the way :p

Salaam Ukhi,
It really depends on what type of work you will want to do. If its for simple browsing the web, work (ie. office etc..) then this PC should suffice. But, if your going to do tasks which are very demanding (video editing, games), then this isn't the one for you.
Though, I would personally recommend a AMD64-bit system. They save alot of money on the electricty bill ! and they are better equipt for the future.

lol...you can fall in love with a computer processor?
:outta:
Making/editting videos requires a lot of RAM and graphics memory. (as would gaming) Depending on how much money you have...you'd need at least 1GB, though I'd go for 2 :D Nothing slower than 400MHz. (some people decide to buy 1GB of 500-and-something MHz RAM while their motherboard is only like 400  )
Which reminds me. I need a RAM upgrade :(

I built me own system. This is a similar spec to the one given below.
AMD64 3400
128MB ATI Graphics
200GB HDD
1GB Ram
8X DVD Writer
The parts these days are much cheaper, than when I paid for mine.
I've done video downloadin' (via Digital Camera / Camcorder) and and video conversion with no probs whatsoever.
My system flies... the scariest part is that it can even get better. The downside is that it takes some time to load, but when its warmed up, it runs like a rolls royce.

Can you get a AMD64 X2 Dual chip PC-system? They are meant to be very good for multi-tasking, and digital media software etc.
Its like running two CPUs at once, with a 2MB L2 Cache - Crazy. I havent checked the benchmarks for them yet, but you might want to consider one..
