Is it possible to pause a video and capture a particular fragment of the video in an image file?

no it wont work under windows media player 9

u can also download that classic player it wont interefere with wmp9 :)

theres a programme called hypersnap or sumamt..captures video images for ya

install and you will have media player classic which look exactly like media player version 6 but it can play almost all the formats of video (including quicktime, 3gp and rm).....open the video..click pause and go to file > save image as (not "save as")...and viola

I've used the capture tool of PowerDVD successfully in the past.

You pause the the footage that you wanna snap. Click the capture button and it should save to wherever you want it saved.

To configure the location to save the image select Configuration > Player > Advanced > Snapshot. Choose a location where you wanna store it and change the file extention to .jpg.

Just tested with the media player classic.

It works fine, except it captures the image in the ratio of the player size, so if playback is full screen, you'll get a bigger picture.

The attachment was default size, and not full screen, hence the attachment shows a smaller image.

Tip: When savin' image... choose the .jpeg option and not bitmap - you can save lots of space.
