building is so easy nowdays, everything is already built on the motherboard, back in the day was complicated and challenging.

i keep buying these e-machines cuz they come with restore cd, basically when things go wrong, jus restore it. and i dont know why but this screen says aizo on it

lol...

And dell's are...they feel like they've been stuck together by a toddler. And it would only take slap to make the thing fall apart. (thats just talking about build quality...they're complete rip offs too. Oh, and they fired Muslim workers for praying...enough to make me not ever buy anything from them :D)

Let me tell you all about my pc blues.

Backkkk in the day, a couple of years back, i had a pc.. i dont know why it used to do weird things (probably a virus or internal fault). It's screen used to literally jump up and down, so if i was online browsing, the browser used to just move vertically and the frequency increased as the minutes ticked. And this used to happen when the machine got a little hot.

So anyway, next we had a laptop. And this laptop's external parts i.e. floppy drive etc, were not dell but the actual laptop itself was dell. So it decided to crash every so often, and i couldn't reboot or do anything myself. That was one heck of a money sucking laptop.

The pc i have now, it's cd/dvd drive doesn't work, so i have plugged in another one at the back, and.. its keyboard is whack. All the keys are not where they are supposed to be (curse the swedes)

Another laptop we have at home, it's just good for typing. And another one, brand new has decided not to work either, you can't even upload broadband on it, it says not enough space when your setting it up via your cd.

I HATE computers.

Have you seen them "mini-ITX" boards? Maybe not as small as a model car...but they'd be more powerful. Me wants one...just so I can show it off :p

Err...well, first you buy all the components. Then you attach the various components to the motherboard, (where they're supposed to go...not just anywhere :p). Then you turn it on, install the various software you need (e.g. an operating system) and then your set.

Or were you looking for a more in-depth explanation? :p

Its where nerds like abdusamad go around trying to break/get into private (wireless) networks which aren't secured very well...kinda illegal, although kind of not. :S

Start > Run | msinfo32.exe

Read through that, see what information (which looks like the kinda stuff pasted above) you can get from it...

Or, I think it tells you some stuff in the control panel in windows...not sure

Wikipedia says the following....

Wardriving is searching for Wi-Fi (/wiki/Wi-Fi) wireless networks (/wiki/Wireless_network) by automobile (/wiki/Automobile). It involves using a car and a Wi-Fi (/wiki/Wi-Fi)-equipped computer, such as a laptop (/wiki/Laptop) or a PDA (/wiki/Personal_digital_assistant), to detect the networks. It is also known (as of 2002 (/wiki/2002)) as "WiLDing" (Wireless Lan Driving), originating in the San Francisco Bay Area (/wiki/San_Francisco_Bay_Area) with the Bay Area Wireless Users Group (/w/index.php?title=Bay_Area_Wireless_Users_Group&action=edit) (BAWUG). It is similar to using a scanner for radio (/wiki/Radio).

Many wardrivers use GPS (/wiki/GPS) devices to measure the location of the network find and log it on a website (/wiki/Website). For better range, antennas (/wiki/Antenna_%28electronics%29) are built or bought, and vary from omnidirectional to highly directional. Software (/wiki/Computer_software) for wardriving is freely available on the Internet (/wiki/Internet), notably, NetStumbler (/wiki/NetStumbler) for Windows (/wiki/Microsoft_Windows), KisMac (/wiki/KisMac) for Macintosh (/wiki/Apple_Macintosh), and Kismet (/wiki/Kismet_%28program%29) for Linux (/wiki/Linux).

abdusamad
30-10-05, 08:41 PM
a wardriver in the United Kingdom might be caught with the "use of a computer for a purpose for which one does not have permission" clause. This is a commonly misunderstood concept. Wardrivers do not, in fact, usually use services without authorization and may not even transmit a signal at all.

MashaAllah loool.... you made my day...

First of All, ya dont build ya own harddrive.

Ya can build ya own laptop even though parts are hard to get and it is very hard to put together, buy a laptop on its own.

Laptop aint that expensive and im sure your not an entertainment freak so ya wouldnt need massive RAM or HDD.

Building ya own pc is cheaper when ya compare it to buynig a complete one.

LAN = Local Area Network... so LAN is a personal network.

you would need a wireless router, so that you can connect to it with your wireless in your laptop. if your laptop doesnt have it built in make sure it has pcmcia slot because you would need to buy a pcmcia card. 802.11X wifi card.
