Assalam Alaykum Dear Brothers and Sisters
Ramadhan is only around the corner and inshaAllah as discussed in the musilm forum, we will makesure that the forum serves an islamic purpose during this blessed month.
This is the month in which the Shaytaan is chained up and the doors of ar-Rayaan are wide opened. Its the month when each action for the sake of Allah Tala has reward in multiples.
It is my request that in the month of Ramadhan if brothers and sisters do log on to the forum, we should utilise the forum to rake rewards in this month rather than waste time or kill time till iftaar.
It is my request that in this month starting from now we make full use of 'Learn about Islaam' section and in preparation for ramadhaan cut down on anything rewardless.
Finally it is my kind request that from now onwards we do not post anything contraversial or anything which is not to do with learning Islam in this section. Please post it in appropriate place. Anything contraversial should go into Muslim forum this includes sufi/wahabi/shia discussions. Any news articles should be posted in Current events section, and anything else should be posted in General Section.
InshAllah Tala from now lets make this place the centre of our forum alongside the Ramadhan forum.
JazakAllahu khayr

Agree 110%, hot topics like this are the main cause of divison.
If anyone does post something where there is a dif opinion, if people have sabr and include in other opinions would be better then to start arms and everyone calling eachother names.
Oh and it think its the best time to bring in some Daily Ramdhan Reflections. Insha'Allah ill have mine up by morning.
Q: Are the other forums going to be closed during ramadhan? e.g. general, CR.

:wswrwb:
IT's the sect debate that lets us down, no offense but i have yet to see someone who has AADHAB and maintains it whilst doing a sect debate, the name calling, the rafidaa daa business whatever that is) and all this Iraq sect debate.
It's so silly and the way people debate, it's embarrassing. ost of the debates have no logic just the same few lines repaeted over until either one side or both call each other Munafeeq, Kaafir or some other horrible stuff. ASTAGHFIRULLAH.
OF course there should be debates, we all have issues :p but the Man thing is Aadhab, you haven't got that, you haven't got a leg to stand on.
Also another thing people should stop using 'S.A.W' and write :saw: it uses the same amount of characters and spacing ( shock, horror) and plus it's fardh for every Muslim to say Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him' . Miser is the one who doesn't.

wa alaykum assalaam, i've got to dissagree on you on this one, what matters is how we read it and I can assure you i don't read it as SAW as in see-saw, we give the prophet(saw) the same respect when we read his name followed by the SAW as we do when we see :saw: .
If you think that people read it as ES Ay DoubleU or SAW then start a poll :p
Hence we still complete our fardh on giving peace and blessings of Allah upon him

TAKEN FROM SUNNIPATH.COM
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
Imam al-Nawawi, the great muhaddith and Shafi’i faqih (Allah have
mercy on him) states in his introduction to the commentary of Sahih Muslim:
“It is praiseworthy (mustahab) for a person writing Hadith that…..at the mentioning of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace), he writes “Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam” in full and not merely using abbreviations, and neither sufficing on one of the two, i.e. Salat & Salam.” (Sharh Sahih Muslim, 1/39)
Thus, when one writes the name of the Messenger of Allah :saw: (Allah bless him & give him peace), one should avoid using abbreviations such as SAW or something similar. It is inappropriate and disrespectful to do so. The love for the Messenger of Allah :saw: (Allah bless him & give him peace) requires that one never tires, both verbally or in writing, from sending
blessings and salutations upon him :saw: (Allah bless & and grant him eternal peace).
Qadhi Iyadh al-Maliki (Allah have mercy on him) mentions a Hadith wherein the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:
“Whosoever sends blessings upon me in a book, the angels seek
forgiveness for him until my name remains in that book.” (Narrated by
al-Tabrani in his al-Awsat, with a weak chain of transmission. See: al-Shifa’
by Qadhi Iyadh, P: 557)
Hence, although the requirement would be fulfilled if one verbally sent blessings and salutations upon the Messenger of Allah :saw: (Allah bless him & grant him peace), but when one writes the name of the beloved of Allah :saw:, one should also send blessings upon him in writing.
And  Allah  knows best

I gotta agree with IG, it takes the same amount of letters like S.A.W as it does to write :saw : without the space.
However some members dont know how to use :saw: so just be patient.

If we place the :saw: smilie at the top of the list so as soon as they click 'smilies' option, the :saw: is the first one in the box it will be easier :)
Or some people have old format where the smilies are on the right hand side on the page, yet the :saw: smilie isn't there, if we moved it :insha: it'll be easier!
